carey defends his thoughts on drugs and same sex marriage

This is my reply to someone on a meet up board about my thoughts on Ron Paul's stance on drugs and same sex marriage
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please you really need to rehash what I wrote over and over until it makes sense, because it does.
I have never questioned Ron Paul's faith as I am well aware of his Lutheran background and the many babies he has delivered but he is not thinking sensible about the issue of marriage and or drugs.
Please explain this. One state allows same sex marriage, this couple because they are married are allowed to adopt, then this couple decides to move to a state that doesn't recognize same sex marriages. Now what? This is an area that needs a uniform law. This is not like healthcare, education, roads etc....
Furthermore the Constitution needs to expand with the times. When it was written the perversion of same sex partners was unheard of. If you were caught in a homosexual act it was a harsh penalty, sometimes the death sentence. Just like with the advent of the computer, 20 years ago crimes committed using it were unheard of because the Internet was just coming of age. So laws had to be made. Follow me?
About drugs. Making the comparison with alcohol is not the best argument. Would we be better off without alcohol? Only a fool would say we wouldn't be. Think of how many lives would of been saved, think of how the quality of life would be improved, whether its production in the workforce or family life. OK so we tried the experiment with prohibition and it failed, but you will never convince me America is a better place because we made it legal.
Besides, alcohol does have some merit, whether its in cooking, or as a beverage. Can you make that claim with drugs?
Continuing on about drugs...
Explain what freedom is there for a person that is hooked on drugs? What about crack babies? What about communities that are in shambles with people afraid to leave their houses because of the drug violence? And if you are concerned about financial matters, what about welfare and the cost for drug treatment? ALL of America is paying for this. IS there freedom in any of this? Making drugs legal would that make families stay together? Make a more productive worker? Make crime go down? Should I go on?
I have an older friend who is Iranian. He came to America in the late 50's to raise a family. He still has other family members in Iran. This friend went on to say how bad it is in Iran. One of the things the Iranian government does is pass out drugs freely to dope young people from starting a rebellion. Is there freedom in this? Study history and the downfall or decline of many civilizations and nations, its usually debauchery at the root.
And yes I stand by what I wrote: "In a free society you have to restrict certain freedoms to ensure that freedom continues"
There is no freedom with drugs. There is no freedom with allowing the communist party on ballots. Should I continue with examples of freedoms that should be restricted?
Lastly, the war on drugs hasn't failed, its our liberal judicial system and corruption in this country that has. If I know where the drug dealers are then why aren't the cops going to these street corners arresting them? Because most of the drug violence and crime is in the inner city black neighborhoods so who cares. It only becomes a problem when it reaches the white suburbs.
I must add this. One law that I would like to see and I have been telling people this. Any person caught dealing drugs or buying should be tried as helping terrorism. We are being doped out of our freedom to make way for a dictator. There is NO freedom in drugs.
odds and ends from Carey
Washington DC has allowed same sex marriage. In recognition of this they are changing the name. It will now be known as Washington AC-DC.
For those of you who don't know, AC-DC is slang for people who go both ways, capeesh?
A recent headline from Yahoo news
Unemployment rises in 30 states in January.
Is this the We're the people meeting? Yes. Well we're the people.
Harry Reid is pushing hard for more highway funds to stimulate jobs growth. This is old thinking in a new era. Back in the depression roads and highways were part of the American dream. Dreams of two cars in every garage, dreams of traveling, roadside diners, motels, hotels, America was a nation on the move. Now, who can afford the gas to drive? The Dems won't let us drill for oil, gas is going up but our roads will be nice. Maybe the Chinese need them when they come over with their tanks to take land for the debt we owe.
Since August '09, Sen. Ted Kennedy dies from brain cancer - Rep. Murtha dies from complications of gall bladder surgery - Harry Reid's wife and daughter in a serious car crash. All liberal Democrats involved in scandals, unGodly policies or both. God's judgment?
Cindy R's. words of wisdom
Carey: The truth shall set you free. Cindy: Well not all the time. If you commit murder and admit to it, it won't set you free, you will be put to death.
News from Millard
Because of Kentucky budget deficit they are talking about only having school 3 days a week. It would save $30 million a year.
Taken from the We the People (Akron group) email
Lent is when we begin a 40 day period of prayer, fasting and penance in commemoration of the sacrifice of Christ; that sacrifice being his passion and death, for our redemption.
May you use this time wisely for your own edification, for it is the perfect opportunity for use to reform at least one of our vices or bad habits. Is it a coincidence that Psychologist's now tell use that it takes four to six weeks of abstinence
to throw off a bad habit, and at the same time, preferably, to replace it with a good one? And when we make this sacrifice for God, not just for our-self, it takes on a whole new dimension and significance. Because we do it not just to take control over our-self but to become better, more like him.
Submit to authority but what about our government?
The real question is, what do we do to make the government follow Romans 13 by submitting to the Constitution?
Tidbits 2
Sour on Bush
I campaigned my tail off to get President W. Bush reelected. I still think he was a wiser choice than Kerry or Gore BUT he has done things that just make me cringe and question his patriotism. President Bush is petitioning hard to get Panama and Columbia on board the free trade train. In fact he said that he wouldn't even consider a bailout for the American auto makers if congress won't approve the free trade agreements. We are in a midst of an economic meltdown because of these unfair trade deals and he wants to give us more!
Free Trade Bad for All
Exploitation of third world countries. If the farm lands are opened up to free trade the corporate farms over here will flee. I have read that some of the canneries pay $7.00 per hour in America and over in Peru they will only have to pay $7 per day. We lose more jobs, we exploit them for cheap labor, the corporations get richer and our food supply is not watched for safety as it is over here.
More Reasons to Shut Down Free Trade
We always hear the lies why free trade is good for third world countries. But in reality its a lose lose situations for all involved. Some Peruvian farmers are worried that if the free trade deal is signed corporate farms will shut them down. If that happens many will turn to the illegal drug trade. And can you blame them if they are faced with either feeding their family or starving.
Who is against free trade?
One person is Senator Duncan Hunter. But of course he got zero support when he ran for president. It just amazes me people complained about our choices for president but when I mention Duncan Hunter they say who? Maybe a test should be given before a person votes of their knowledge of the issues and the candidates. Face it, the media wins elections - the candidates don't.
Media Wins
You may not understand that last sentence of the media wins elections - the candidates don't. Here is an example. During the last week of the election one of the local news channels had a segment on Obama and McCain. For the Obama part they showed a Democratic head quarters in central Ohio. It was buzzing with activity and excitement. They interviewed a couple of younger volunteers who were energized and just talking up a storm of how important it is to get Obama elected. Then the news channel switched reporters for the McCain update and they showed a lonely farm house. Nothing around. Inside was an older gentleman sitting in a chair. His name was Tom Moe who served in Vietnam with McCain. He spoke slower and of McCain's past war experience. Let me analyze that for you. The average person saw Obama's camp as new, youthful, energized, change. What people seen in the McCain story was grandpa, quiet, past events. Most people don't have a
guard on their brain. They immediately equate the stories as equal. WRONG! If the media was fair they would of interviewed Tom Moe for McCain and another elderly person for Obama. Or if they wanted to show Obama's Democratic headquarters why didn't they compare it to a place like Lake GOP's headquarters to show the hectic pace those volunteers were working at. That's fair and unbiased reporting.
Irony of the election
Yeah I know most of this has been written or I have said it in other articles or its been reported on national news but its still worth repeating. Again this highlights how the media wins elections. Hey if advertising doesn't work why do companies spend BILLIONS on it? All of us can hum or sing at least one commercial and its the same with these multimillion dollar campaigns. During the GOP primaries in Florida Christian Conservatives voted Romney. Anti-Bush and establishment went for McCain. I don't have to explain further the absurdity of those first two examples but the point is the free media or the paid media worked, it convinced voters to vote opposite the truth. And in the presidential election people who wanted change voted Obama and yet he picks old Democratic insiders for his VP and posts. People voted for and passed laws against same sex marriage and yet voted for Obama who is for it. This drives me crazy. People need to wake up,
forget the sound bites, the 60 second ads, and do their own research. I hope my repeating this again will start sinking in.
