Unstable Oil Prices

When this county was founded America was trying to get their new currency started and stabilized. Some from England were manipulating and gambling with the US dollar to undermine the country.  It almost worked as it put the young  country into a early financial bind.

What we are seeing today is the same thing with fuel, it is being manipulated.  This started under Bush where we saw WILD swings with fuel.  It is still going on under Obama.  The average person cannot hold onto their budget because they can't save or keep up with the market.  Oil not only runs our vehicles but is in so many products.

Speculators and globalists in BOTH parties are allowing this to destroy our economy and currency in increments.  That's why you see gas go down, the economy perks up, then it shoots back up, this slows the economy down, this is paving the way for a new global currency.  IF they destroyed the US economy all at once this would throw the whole planet into a depression 10 times greater then the 30's.

Even what Obama is pushing for now an increase in minimum wage to $10.15 per hour is part of this plan.  A lowly Whopper could cost $5 or more.  They are destroying the dollar.

The world's commodities are based on US currency.  Soon the world will demand to dump the dollar as it is too weak and not stable and want a new global currency which means a one world bank, one world currency, one world rule.

FURTHERMORE - The news letter of America News and Views March 15

Host Bob Murphy along with Co-Host Chairman Fellows were alone and sparring in the studio on March 15th.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lets jump right into this weeks news letter.
We have to be careful and better educated if we are to win over Democrats and Liberals. We need to research, learn history and quit running on emotions.
Many of us are very against Obama and his policies and no matter what he does or says he is automatically wrong but what would you say if I said Obama could be right on a few issues, maybe more?
For instance when Obama said drilling for oil won't help (lower the price of gas) most of us thought he was nuts. But guess what, he may be right.
The US currently has a record number of drills working, either for oil or the recent discoveries of natural gas (LNG). The companies drilling for oil are in trouble because of the recent finds has driven the price down. In steps China. China needs oil and LNG. And guess what? They have the money to buy buy buy and are willing to pay more. So if you are a US energy company where prices have fallen flat and you have another country willing to pay more what would you do?
If China does start purchasing from the US that will make China compete against us for our own natural resource and prices will go UP. In Texas China has invested billions and formed a partnership with Chesapeake Energy Corp and they own one of a third stake in another US company Devon Energy.
So you can drill for oil all you want but that won't lower the price not when China is willing to pay and invest.
Obama part 2.
The recent Arizona immigration bill was deemed unconstitutional by the Obama administration. Again the people were up in arms. But was Obama right?
According to a book I am reading American Government In 1921 by Frank Magruder Ph. D. c. 1921 it says on page 210:
In 1914 Arizona provided that any company or individual that employs more than 5 persons must employ not less than 80% qualified voters or native born citizens of the US. This law was declared unconstitutional because of its enforcement would have discriminated against aliens and thus would have deprived them of the equal protection of the State's laws.
YES I understand today’s immigration law from Arizona is different and maybe the key word is illegal alien rather than just alien (or are they the same?) but there are precedents and these previous rulings that were declared unconstitutional towards aliens which we did nothing about has set the stage for our current problems that have opened the floodgates.
So technically Obama has been right. But where Obama has failed as president is he should try to correct injustices and protect the American people but right now he is doing neither.
The rumor mill keeps on spinning about Mitt Romney and Ron Paul's collaboration to get Rand Paul picked as Mitt's VP if he does grab the nomination.
I am hoping this is in fact just a rumor as in a few years I would love to see Rand Paul run for president and being a patsy for Mitt will not help his stature. He would then be known as Mitt's Sarah Palin when Mitt loses to Obama. Not even a Rand Paul or Marco Rubio will save the Mitt ship from sinking in November just like Palin couldn't save McCain.
Santorum could lose big in November. YES here is why, if by some miracle Santorum does pull off the upset and beats the chosen one Mitt the establishment would not be happy their man lost. They could play politics and not back Santorum. We have seen this game many times on the local and state level. Stay wise to this as you will have to work extra hard to get Santorum elected over Obama, that's if Santorum wins the nomination over the chosen one.
Friends,
Here's my short commentary for this week, short and to the point.
America is a great country. We were the envy of the world. I just don't understand this philosphy of social engineering and the push towards globalization. Trading with world partners for goods is one thing but to make us all equal is another thing. We should never have to lower our standards to be equal they should have to raise theirs. And that's what socialism and one world government does, it makes everyone equal at a lower level not better.
Your Friend,
Bob Murphy
things you need to read and careys presidential prediction for 2012
Friends this is long but its things you need to read about. So grab some coffee and read it in segments.
If you haven't heard, Cleveland - which usually includes the surrounding suburbs, won the top spot in another top ten list. This one for the fastest falling home values.
Check out this article titled "Home Prices Are Falling Dangerously"
Of America's largest urban housing markets, Cleveland seems to be deteriorating the most. Home prices in Cleveland dropped a frightening 3% in September alone.
http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/where-home-prices-are-falling-dangerously.html
And yet the local gov of Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs like Euclid just don't get it that people have little to no money and/or equity in their houses and yet fee's and taxes are continually going up up and awayyyy!!! The cities are broke because the people have no jobs which makes them broke but the city expects broke people to balance their books. Someone explain to me how this is suppose to work? The more taxes are raised the more people flee. You would think that if less and less people are living here, less services would be needed so why the need to raise fee's? It seems simple logic to me but maybe I'm wrong.
I Just received my property tax bill for the two bedroom house I own in Euclid. I bought the house in 2003, taxes were about $965 per year, house was worth $69,500. The new property tax is $1,745 and value is at $61,000 and this is with many improvements in 7 years. Add to this figure the trash, street light, and inspection fee that adds roughly another $300 per year. I should be charging way more than I do for the rental but I know my tenants now are finding it hard to pay the utilities. So even if I agree with these raises and want to pay its the lack of revenue that is the issue. Anyone out there listening?____________________________
I heard something on the news that made me stop what I was doing so I could call a few friends and tell them. This was broadcast on MSNBC. The analyst said: OPEC raised output. This means higher prices for oil. They had to, to decrease global demand for oil. I paraphrased but its very very close to what this person said. Usually when output is increased, prices decrease, now we are seeing the oposit. And who is THEY?
During the Bush years we constantly heard big oil and Bush were causing prices to escalate. Now the truth is coming out it was the liberal, globalist go green movement causing this problem, the Al Gores of this world.
A friend who works for BASF told me they think oil could reach $200 per barrel in a year. Lets do the math. The most obvious is gas at the pump. Double the price. Then everything at the store just about double it also. EVERYTHING gets delivered by vehicles that use oil. And MANY MANY products use oil to make. If this happens you will see chaos. Prices for the average person will not be bearable. Unemployment will skyrocket.
When you keep hearing anything spoken about for years it usually happens. So I am afraid this forecast could be true.
Obama and the rest of the Gore's of the world are pushing hard for alternative fuel vehicles. Nothing wrong with that if done sensibly by allowing the market to work. And until you do find an alternative you don't restrict and interfere with what you have. Think back to 1880 when engines were first be tinkered with. Can you imagine if the president back then declared war on the horse and raised taxes for feed and breeding? It would of disrupted life and caused major financial problems. The horse was still being used in some place until the 30's. So until a viable alternative mode of transportation is found the gov and EPA need to back off. Go back to the thinking of the 50's through 70's when the back yard mechanic flourished and created some unusual vehicles mostly for the track but thats the kind of ingenuity we need. Remember the Crosley King Midget? It wasn't that big of a seller but got up to 50 to 60 sometimes more MPG and it was cheap. How many of us would go out and buy this little tin can today? What killed it? Emision and safety regulations. We need to downsize and restrict government not the people.
Now about the electric car. Its not the cure all we think. In an AP article by J. Fahey I need to point out a few things. Plugged into a socket an electric car can draw as much power as a small house.. The surge in demand could knock out power to a home or even a neighborhood. We are pushing for these electric cars but will our power grid handle it and what about older homes will they need to upgrade fuse boxes? What about our electric rates, will they increase? If the gov backs out and lets the free market work it will, but it will take time, not mandates.
This Christmas seasons sales were way up. Everyone says this is good news. But is it really? I look at things a little deeper. The only way these numbers would be good for America is if everyone gave gift certificates to restaurants, hotels, hair stylist or massages, plumbers, painters etc... in other words services. By buying more products made in China all it did was send more dollars out of this country and lower the value and raise the trade deficit. Sad but true.
From the rumor mill. A friend told me that she ran into a woman from Euclid who was involved with the Euclid Tea Party. She said this woman told her a certain Euclid councilwoman use to write the Euclid Observer, a local paper that was very critical of the mayor and his policies, lots of people read it. They offered the publisher a position on council and her being elected shut down the news letter. Now the new Euclid Observer is just fluff and people don't like reading it.
JUST REPEATING WHAT I HEARD
In case you haven't figured it out yet here is my prediction for the presidential election in 2012. It will be Mitt Romney as the GOP nominee against Obama and Obama wins big. Keep an eye on Hillary, she is jockeying for positition.
I can tell you why later in detail.
I received two emails with almost the same title this past month, New Boss Same as the Old Boss. How true how true how true!
One was concerning politics in Cuyahoga and the other was the way Ron Paul was being treated by fellow Repubs. I want to add one more to this. Obama signed a free trade deal with korea. Who inititated this? Geo. W..   Obama says it will help our auto industry by removing barriers in Korea. I got news for him. Korea doesn't need our cars. Kia and Hyundai are doing just fine. What this trade deal means is more of their cars dumped here. By By domestic made cars!
Fiat last month was celebrating their return to American shores after a 27 year absence. Thanks to Obama and his brilliant bailout. Chrysler has one of the highest percentage of American parts in their cars, about 65%. That number will fall drastically if they use American parts at all.
Democratic strategy for the stretch run.
Friends,
Here is the Democratic strategy for the stretch run. If you have been following my writings then you have heard some of this before. I truly believe they will be using these.
Number one on the list will be the BLAME GAME!
...using sports as an analogy. In sports there is a strategy to run the same play over and over until the opposing team stops it. The Democrats are using this exact strategy. They are getting a lot of mileage out of blaming President Bush. In late July Obama gave a speech saying this very thing. Until Republicans counter it OR the public says enough, the Dems will continue on and slyly slip it in where ever they can.
How else have they used Blame Bush? They are using it to take our minds off the fact they will be raising taxes and instead keep repeating the Bush Tax cuts are costing the US billions.
Bush tax cuts are not costing the US billions, the Dems spending is. The Repubs have to remind everyone that when the Dems were put in power in 2006 is when the great economic slide started.
Number two: The Dems have an interesting way of garnering support and votes. They use a laser and target specific groups. It doesn't matter that they contradict themselves as long as they say the right things to the group they are addressing. One of their target groups is Hispanics. And whether its good for America or not they will stand up for illegals. If the Dems can get amnesty for the illegals and get them registered they will vote Democratic. But even if the Dems fail with their amnesty plan they will still have the Hispanic support for trying. Hispanics alone won't win the election but that is an important block to keep.
Number three: Time. The Dems can't run on job creation. They can't run on health-care as most Americans have turned against it. They can't run on success in Iraq, the surge was responsible. There is not much they can run on other then - TIME. They will be making the pitch - please don't give up on us now, Bush had 8 years, our plans need time to work and they will. The Repubs need to counter with, the Dems have had control of Congress since 2006 with two of those years with a Democratic president at the helm, we do not have the luxury of giving Dems any more time, America is on life support, we can not take a chance and waste any more time.
Lastly this is not as much as a strategy as an observation, (unless there is market manipulation going on), fluctuations in oil prices that could send gas prices spiraling downward. This plays heavily into the favor of Dems. Our economy thrives on cheap oil. If oil stays cheap till the election and things start to improve people will forget, as they always do, of how bad things were and think well the economy is starting to rebound. The Repubs must counter that this is only short term because Obama won't allow drilling that will not only raise oil prices once again but also will cost THOUSANDS of jobs.
Don't be surprised when you hear these.
The lull in oil prices
With only hours till the election I am hoping to reach anyone who may still be on the fence on how they want to vote. With gas prices falling people my be lulled into a false sense of security. Some think this helps McCain's chances, I see it differently as I feel it helps Obama. How? The Republicans mantra has been drill baby drill, with lower oil prices this has diffused the need somewhat. But again, don't be fooled by this lull, OPEC has already said they will cut production sometime this November by about a million barrels a day.
Over the past 6 months I saved newspaper articles that point to the failures of the Democratic party that are a big part of the problem of why the high price of oil. I try to read as much as possible from as many different sources to get the full picture. The first two articles I want to paraphrase from were sent to me from a friend in Kentucky. They are written by Congressman Geoff Davis of Kentucky.
The truth about oil shale.
The US possesses abundant domestic energy resources that hold potential to increase our energy supply and possibly generate a third industrial revolution. Unfortunately the Democratic majority continues to avoid creating a comprehensive energy strategy that will increase our energy supply and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. The Interior Dept. estimates that there are 112 billion barrels of oil beneath US lands and costal waters. Plus America is home to the largest oil shale deposits, more than the amount of crude oil in Saudi Arabia. Enough oil to meet current oil demand for more than 250 YEARS. In 2005 Republican led Congress directed the Secretary of Interior to develop a program, however in 2007 the Democratic Majority suspended funding for the project.
This article is titled The truth about nuclear energy
Industrializing countries like China are consuming more fuel. As a result the demand has skyrocketed causing the price we pay for energy to soar. Nearly 70% of all electricity in the US is generated by fossil fuel. Nuclear power could provide safe, clean and reliable electricity. In the US nuclear reactors produce about 20% of America's electricity. In Europe and Asia they are embracing it. France and Lithuania generate more than 70% with nuclear. Unfortunately in the US due to litigation and government regulations, no new nuclear plants have been built since the 1970's.
This next article that I paraphrase from was written by Sen. George Voinovich titled Climate plan too costly.
Ohioans could see the loss of thousands of good paying jobs, shocking increases in gas, electricity, and gasoline prices and pocket-numbing decreases in household incomes. This storm comes in the form of current legislative efforts in Washington to mandate massive reductions in emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. The decisions made could result in the most massive bureaucratic intrusion into the lives of Americans. States like Ohio who depend on coal could suffer a 53% increase in electricity bills. China puts two new coal-fired power plants in service every week. India is building the largest coal mine in the world. America could shut down all its emissions producing activities and wouldn't even make a dent in global CO2 emissions.
Lastly, way back in January I attended the Cleveland Auto Show. Displayed was a nifty little Ford truck/van called the Transit. I asked the salesman is this available now? He replied, this vehicle is not new, its been sold in Europe for years but can't be released here until they clean up the exhaust because it makes to much black smoke. That kind of thinking and bureaucracy makes me crazy! Does Europe and the rest of the world live in a different planet or have different air than in America? Our socialist liberal politicians always makes the US the bad guy. The Democrats won't let us drill for oil, are afraid of nuclear power, and make it tough to use our coal! Vote for someone like Obama who feeds into this theory and the globalist restrictions and regulations placed on America to make us the scape goat will break the back of this nation, not possibly but will.
