I have the best neighbors.
My neighbor Fred Schwartz Jr. gave me a book that he is very excited for me to read. I am equally enthused to delve into it.

I am not sure if the book will mention this so here is a quick history lesson:

The first president to go behind the Red Curtain was Nixon
The ambassador to China under Nixon was Bush Sr.
First president to sign a trade deal was Carter
Each president after renewed the deal
Clinton then gave them MFN status
And let’s not forget Clinton selling China missile technology, Long Beach Naval Base and the Gore Buddhist temple fund raising scandal

But all of you the consumer also had a part in China's rise. Instead of buying Made in America you went after the inferior cheap made in China products to save a buck. In the long run, this has cost America more than just a buck or two.

Back to my original meaning of this...
THANK YOU FRED for the book!

a few chuckles and one quote

I heard that America is actually 88 TRILLION in debt, 88 TRILLION! Now it makes sense why they want to mint a trillion dollar coin. It will be used in vending machines.

Fiat and Chrysler may make the fabled Jeep in China. With the expected move a name change will also take place. Jeep will soon be called Cheep.

China wants to make their own Mt. Rushmore honoring 5 Americans. Nixon for being the first president to go behind the Red Curtain, Bush Sr. who was the ambassador to China under Nixon, Carter who signed the first trade agreement with China, Clinton for giving China most favored nation trading status and Walmart.

Its early but I nominate this as the quote of the year:

To me its not about the money, its about finishing what I tried to start when I first got elected in 1980. Cleveland Councilman Ken Johnson.

The story is this..... Ken Johnson briefly resigned as councilman so he could qualify for retirement then was quickly reappointed by his cronies. Is it any wonder why Cleveland and America as a whole is in trouble? Besides that read the words of Ken once more. What he tried to start in 1980! So Ken is still trying to finish what he tried to start 32 years later? You can't finish what you never started.

Maybe with all this double-dip going on they should open a ice cream parlor inside of city hall, they already have all the nuts they need to sprinkle on top.

Added note: Johnson makes $74,000 per year as councilman plus his retirement.

Recent News & Sports, Dimora - olympics and more

Recent News
Over 6 billion, yes 6 billion dollars will be spent on political ads this year. And yet it still won't be enough to convince voters Obama is an American and Mitt Romney is a Republican.

The same scenario keeps playing out. Oil prices go up, stocks come tumbling down. Oil prices fall, stocks shoot up. Its kind of like with Obama. Obama plays golf, the economy improves. Obama goes back to work, the economy slows down.

Wow was I saddened by the Cuyahoga County appraisal of my house in Euclid. It plummeted from last year losing half its value. Property taxes though are expected to go up again. If this keep up my taxes will be more than what my house is worth.
Cuyahoga County commissioner Jimmy Dimora is asking friends to donate to a defense fund so that he can appeal the charges. I bet you Dimora wished he would have saved some of that kickback money he spent on prostitutes.

Cuyahoga County commissioner Jimmy Dimora is asking friends to donate to his defense fund. No big news here, aren't all Domcratic fund raising events for some sort of criminal defense?

Charlie Brown and Linus thought they spotted the Great Pumpkin but it was only Dimora in his orange prison jumpsuit.

Cuyahoga County commissioner Jimmy Dimora's guilty conscience is finally starting to get to him. Dimora started yelling in court I HAD NOTHING TO WITH THE OLYMPIC BADMITON PLAYERS THROWING GAMES – I'M INNOCENT, HEAR ME INNOCENT!

Sports talk
I have been watching the Olympics this year more so than in the past. I got interested in women's volley ball. They were giving the statistics for kills and digs. OK I know what a kill is but what is a dig? Is that how many times they have to dig their skimpy bottoms out?

Immediately after the closing ceremony the Chinese players will take express jets back to China. Walmart needs them back at the sweat shops making goods for their store.

Even though times are bad in America it feels so good to see the US athlete compete in the Olympics and just about lead in the record count against China with a population three or 4 times that of the US. Yes it made me feel proud to see the American athlete in all their glory receiving medal after medal in their Chinese made jerseys, sporting made in Japan sunglasses, using equipment made in Mexico. Yes I am proud to be an American.

I was excited to hear the Cleveland Browns were sold. I was depressed when I heard they won't be leaving Cleveland.

The Cleveland Indians were so ecstatic that they celebrated beating the Detroit Tigers and winning the Justin Verlander World Series in July and forgot the season still has over 2 months to go. The Cleveland manager said Hey we beat Verlander, what more do you want, more wins?

                       If my humor is too dry for you, just blame it on the drought.

FURTHERMORE - The news letter of America News and Views October 27th

America News and Views news letter - FURTHERMORE
Host Bob Murphy, Liaison for the Tea Party Carey Masci, National Commentator Mike Gutierrez and our special guest US Senate candidate Rusty Bliss were in the studio.
_____________
The show for Thursday the 27th was quite different than those in the past. The topics we are now covering are definitely expanding. In this newsletter I am going to write about a few topics from my notes that we never got to.

But first I would like to briefly mention the Tea Party gathering on Monday the 24th I held for US Senate candidate Rusty Bliss at the Greek House In Wickliffe which by the way has terrific food. Rusty Bliss fielded questions from the energized and knowledgeable group that most candidates wouldn't even entertain but Rusty did and he answered them. Just a great time, thanks to everyone who attended.
________________
Joe from the Euclid Tea Party requested that we talk about another Euclid scandal that's brewing.

According to an article in the News Herald Euclid Mayor Bill Cervenik is quite uneasy about a short conversation he had with Jimmy Dimora in 2008. Cervenik insists that phone call with Dimora did not influence his decision to support Neteam AVI a company with ties to Michael Forlani a businessman accused of bribing Dimora. The RTA board the following day voted unanimously to award a $1.2 million contract to Neteam AVI. Cervenik said his decision was made a week earlier that he would support them.

As much as I hate how things are run in Cuyahoga County this is still America where you are innocent until proven guilty so we will have to wait to see how this unravels.

But this I do know, the more layers of government you have the better the odds of corruption are. And anywhere where you have a stronghold of one party rule, especially Democratic, corruption can be found because of no checks and balances,

Cuyahoga needs to be flushed out, layers of government reduced and do away with anything unconstitutional such as mandatory house inspections which is another area of local government that breeds dishonesty and used as an extension of the law to go after people who speak out.
________________
I need to repeat something I already wrote, it is about Euclid council voting to oppose Issue 2. Remember this is the same city that is charging an additional fee to residents for street lights because they could not afford safety forces. So does it make sense to oppose Issue 2? Well of course it does as long as residents don't gripe and complain about the added fee, most just roll over dead and pay. And pay they will even more so if Issue 2 fails. Heads up, get ready to open your wallet if it does.

Saber rattling could get ugly. I have been keeping an eye on a conflict going on now about a year. It is between the Philippines who are friends of the US and China.

Taken from a Yahoo Philippines news source:

China, Taiwan and four Southeast Asian states, including the Philippines and Vietnam, have conflicting claims over the Spratly Islands and other atolls in the South China Sea, an area believed to have rich deposits of oil and gas. It is also a rich fishing ground. Claimants to the sea have been trying to cool tension after a series of disputes this year, including when Chinese patrol boats threatened to ram a Philippine-contracted survey ship in the Reed Bank in March.

I clearly understand what Rep. Ron Paul says that we should not be the policemen of the world because it is not Constitutional but I also agree with Sen. Santorum that if we don't who will because here is a case of what should we do? IF China does use force they would crush the Philippines who are one of our strongest Pacific Rim allies. Do we just sit idly by and do nothing or do we get involved in another conflict?

So many problems across the globe some you don't even hear about.
Carey Masci

Carey looks at some current events

The gas dilemma.

I finally bought a bigger gas can. I was so tired of running out of gas while doing yard work that I swapped my 1 gal. can for a 5. Unfortunately I can't afford to fill the 5 so I am back to using the 1 gal..

I have been checking local ordinances about owning sheep in the city. Trying to figure out whats cheaper, owning sheep or keeping my lawn mower fueled.

I saw a store ad the another day advertising their gas lawn mowers with LPG. Lawns Per Gallon.

Troubling headlines
Senator Warns Financial Trouble Ahead for U.S., Prepare Now
Is Your Prostate Keeping You Up at Night?

That was the headline and ad on my Yahoo homepage the other day, one on top of the other. I should never of read it before bed. All night I couldn't sleep, wasn't sure if it was because I was worried about the looming financial trouble or if it was my prostrate.

High and Higher
Gov. Johnson of New Mexico said during the first debate two weeks ago that he has climbed most of the highest mountains with a few more to go which he will climb. He is also in favor of legalizing pot. I think his campaign slogan should be - Lets get high together.

A couple of more words on Osama.
A new version of the Jules Verne classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea will be rewritten to fit the times. It will be called 20,000 Muslims Under the Sea.

A strange phenomenon has occurred after Osama was tossed into the sea. Before when you put your ear to a conk shell you could hear the ocean, now when you do it you hear the Muslim Call to Prayer.

And lastly.... Now that Osama is dead I guess you could call him a Has Bin.

The Bad and the Good
The Bad - China has the Blackhawk helicopter that was downed in Pakistan. The Good - You will be able to buy one soon at Walmart.

Wayne sends this important info - careys research on the EPA lead law

Friends,
My friend Wayne is as incensed as we all are of the power of the EPA. No one is advocating pre-1970 standards but common sense needs to be applied. America is quickly becoming a Stalinist state while countries like China are growing and polluting far more than America is. EPA is suppose to protect the environment. What are they doing snooping around in people's houses trying to save us? Its not about our health, its about control.
Carey Masci
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally.... a Resolution/Bill proposed to cut the power of the EPA. ..be assured.... neither Casey nor Specter signed on to it. In the House version a few PA Reps had the cajones and a lot of Ohio Reps signed on. I do feel we will ...again... fold like a cheap suit and allow them to continue their unelected power position but this is showing even legislators are starting to question the powers of the EPA.
If jobs is what we need.... we need to rein in the EPA to a controlable level. There is a point where it goes too far. Then again, all who know me know of the "love" I have for the EPA, DEP and assorted uncontrolled money pits.
Enemy of the People of America
Thoughts about Haiti - written 1-15-10
Funny that Evangelist Pat Robertson said what he did as I was going to write something very similar. For those who missed it Pat said (paraphrased) "Haiti's problems stem from the pact they made with the devil." I myself can believe such a thing could happen.
I would like to see the figures of the worst disasters, manmade or natural, and see how many occured in pagan or unGodly cities and/or nations. We know about the many earth quakes in San Francisco, Katrina in New Orleans, Indonesia and the tsumani, NY and 911 and now Haiti. Makes one wonder. And I keep saying the next inline for something major is Vegas.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Haiti has a population of 9 million.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Though Haiti is heavily Catholic, she still holds onto her pagan beliefs. A large percentage still believe in or practice Voodoo right alongside their Christian faith.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pres. Obama has pledged 100 million dollars towards the relief effort of Haiti, a figure that will be sure to grow over the year.
What should the US do? Do we send them money? Do we just let them be? The country for so many years has been corrupt. What is the right thing to do?
I am not sure but this I do know. President Obama bailed out the auto and bank industry and is demanding payback or heavy taxes and fines. Now the US is about to help another country. I wasn't all for these bailouts but since we did we should be placing the same payback demands on countries that get aid from us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please understand I am all for donating and if you feel like doing it thats great. But this should be an individuals choice, not the role of the government. Especially when we are TRILLIONS in debt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If I heard correctly this is a figure thats hard to believe. The US has already generated $500 million for Haiti, China $1 million.

Flu - H1N1 and other interesting tidbits

Flu shot made where?
Did you know that one of the reasons there is a shortage of flu shots is because we don't make it? Most of our flu shot medicine comes from Canada. Canada is in a spot because while America is demanding more they need it for their citizens.

Common Flu vs. H1N1
Common flu deaths in an average year 36,000 H1N1 deaths so far 10,000
5% to 20% of the population gets the flu;
more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu-related complications; and
about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes. From CDC

The new estimates suggest that about 15% of the population -- one in six Americans -- has had the H1N1 swine flu. From Web MD
Yes I realize the flu season isn't over yet but you would think EGore (Al Gore) is behind this hysteria. Then again if he was the H1N1 might be called People Warming. Just be careful.

Common Sense Tips
Keep hands away from face, don't pick your nose, and be polite if someone wants to shake your hand and just say its the flu season just want to be cautious but it could be for your benefit also. And remember if you do get sick throw out your toothbrush the minute you start to feel better. No fear, just common sense.
On to other topics.

Will the real first black president stand up
Bill Clinton was labeled and called himself America's first black president. Now during a recent trip to Asia President Obama called himself "America's first Pacific President." You figure it out. I just want an American as my president.

So much corruption so little jail time
Cleveland Schools paid over $145,000.00 for printers they never received. Daniel Burns was the business manager for Superior Offset Supplies before coming to Cleveland as one of the top school officials is to blame. He could get up to 30 years.
BUT maybe, just maybe School Official Burns is innocent. Maybe the printers were hijacked and sent to the White House where President Obama is using them to print money for all his programs.

Whats another TRILLION?
President Obama is on a spending frenzy with no end in sight. He is making President Bush Jr. look like a tightwad and he hasn't even had a full year in office yet. America is broke folks. If China demands money on the debt we owe them there is only one way to pay it and that is land. Thats how we acquired Alaska from Russia and the Louisiana Purchase from France. Gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that Hawaii, California or another state could fly the Chinese Flag. Good Ole Slick Willy signed Long Beach Naval base over to the Chinese back in the 90's so why not land? It could happen.

Don't Be Square This Christmas
Oh boy. I bought square Christmas cards at a dollar store. They are very well made. I didn't understand the cheap price until I got them home. Stamped on the back was Woolworth which dates them. For those of you who don't know Woolworth was a store that is now defunct. I still sent them out to my clients and a few friends anyway. I ran out of stamps for the second batch so went to the post office to mail them at the counter. The clerk told me it would be an additional 22 cents because the cards are square. Not over sized, just square! I asked what would happen to the others that I put in the mailbox? He said they will either be returned or arrive with postage due. I can just imagine my accounts having to either pay the 22 cents or go down to the post office to claim the card. Can you believe this, square cards cost more. Maybe I should of bought triangle just to make a point.

Thats a wrap you can get back to your other emails now.
Gotta GoGo!!
