Friends this is long but its things you need to read about. So grab some coffee and read it in segments.

If you haven't heard, Cleveland - which usually includes the surrounding suburbs, won the top spot in another top ten list. This one for the fastest falling home values.
Check out this article titled "Home Prices Are Falling Dangerously"
Of America's largest urban housing markets, Cleveland seems to be deteriorating the most. Home prices in Cleveland dropped a frightening 3% in September alone.
http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/where-home-prices-are-falling-dangerously.html
And yet the local gov of Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs like Euclid just don't get it that people have little to no money and/or equity in their houses and yet fee's and taxes are continually going up up and awayyyy!!! The cities are broke because the people have no jobs which makes them broke but the city expects broke people to balance their books. Someone explain to me how this is suppose to work? The more taxes are raised the more people flee. You would think that if less and less people are living here, less services would be needed so why the need to raise fee's? It seems simple logic to me but maybe I'm wrong.
I Just received my property tax bill for the two bedroom house I own in Euclid. I bought the house in 2003, taxes were about $965 per year, house was worth $69,500. The new property tax is $1,745 and value is at $61,000 and this is with many improvements in 7 years. Add to this figure the trash, street light, and inspection fee that adds roughly another $300 per year. I should be charging way more than I do for the rental but I know my tenants now are finding it hard to pay the utilities. So even if I agree with these raises and want to pay its the lack of revenue that is the issue. Anyone out there listening?____________________________
I heard something on the news that made me stop what I was doing so I could call a few friends and tell them. This was broadcast on MSNBC. The analyst said: OPEC raised output. This means higher prices for oil. They had to, to decrease global demand for oil. I paraphrased but its very very close to what this person said. Usually when output is increased, prices decrease, now we are seeing the oposit. And who is THEY?
During the Bush years we constantly heard big oil and Bush were causing prices to escalate. Now the truth is coming out it was the liberal, globalist go green movement causing this problem, the Al Gores of this world.
A friend who works for BASF told me they think oil could reach $200 per barrel in a year. Lets do the math. The most obvious is gas at the pump. Double the price. Then everything at the store just about double it also. EVERYTHING gets delivered by vehicles that use oil. And MANY MANY products use oil to make. If this happens you will see chaos. Prices for the average person will not be bearable. Unemployment will skyrocket.
When you keep hearing anything spoken about for years it usually happens. So I am afraid this forecast could be true.
Obama and the rest of the Gore's of the world are pushing hard for alternative fuel vehicles. Nothing wrong with that if done sensibly by allowing the market to work. And until you do find an alternative you don't restrict and interfere with what you have. Think back to 1880 when engines were first be tinkered with. Can you imagine if the president back then declared war on the horse and raised taxes for feed and breeding? It would of disrupted life and caused major financial problems. The horse was still being used in some place until the 30's. So until a viable alternative mode of transportation is found the gov and EPA need to back off. Go back to the thinking of the 50's through 70's when the back yard mechanic flourished and created some unusual vehicles mostly for the track but thats the kind of ingenuity we need. Remember the Crosley King Midget? It wasn't that big of a seller but got up to 50 to 60 sometimes more MPG and it was cheap. How many of us would go out and buy this little tin can today? What killed it? Emision and safety regulations. We need to downsize and restrict government not the people.
Now about the electric car. Its not the cure all we think. In an AP article by J. Fahey I need to point out a few things. Plugged into a socket an electric car can draw as much power as a small house.. The surge in demand could knock out power to a home or even a neighborhood. We are pushing for these electric cars but will our power grid handle it and what about older homes will they need to upgrade fuse boxes? What about our electric rates, will they increase? If the gov backs out and lets the free market work it will, but it will take time, not mandates.

This Christmas seasons sales were way up. Everyone says this is good news. But is it really? I look at things a little deeper. The only way these numbers would be good for America is if everyone gave gift certificates to restaurants, hotels, hair stylist or massages, plumbers, painters etc... in other words services. By buying more products made in China all it did was send more dollars out of this country and lower the value and raise the trade deficit. Sad but true.

From the rumor mill. A friend told me that she ran into a woman from Euclid who was involved with the Euclid Tea Party. She said this woman told her a certain Euclid councilwoman use to write the Euclid Observer, a local paper that was very critical of the mayor and his policies, lots of people read it. They offered the publisher a position on council and her being elected shut down the news letter. Now the new Euclid Observer is just fluff and people don't like reading it.

I received two emails with almost the same title this past month, New Boss Same as the Old Boss. How true how true how true!
One was concerning politics in Cuyahoga and the other was the way Ron Paul was being treated by fellow Repubs. I want to add one more to this. Obama signed a free trade deal with korea. Who inititated this? Geo. W.. Obama says it will help our auto industry by removing barriers in Korea. I got news for him. Korea doesn't need our cars. Kia and Hyundai are doing just fine. What this trade deal means is more of their cars dumped here. By By domestic made cars!
Fiat last month was celebrating their return to American shores after a 27 year absence. Thanks to Obama and his brilliant bailout. Chrysler has one of the highest percentage of American parts in their cars, about 65%. That number will fall drastically if they use American parts at all.

Friends,
A vet speaks out about DADT. He is a friend from Pa but wishes to remain anonymous.
CKM
I asked: How do you feel personally as a vet and a vet who is still active in vet affairs with this ruling?
His answer:
When I served, there were gays in the military. After time in a duty station... it was kind of common knowledge. I will admit, while I was in Vietnam, the idea didn't really surface. As far as I know...no one was open about it. Here is my problem with this.... I don't brag I am Hetro, Wicken, Hindu, Catholic or Hemorphodite. There are things you need not use as a suffix or prefix to who you are. I was Specialist or Sarge... and I did my job. They have to as well. DADT worked.... There was no need to declare anything but doing what was expected by the military. Now we passed this and with no more thought than maybe "2 down, 2 to go" mindset. Lets run down possible and I do mean possible scenarios..
1) Living in the barracks... maybe 3-4 man rooms.... and 2 are "lovers". Picture the problems with that set up. Do we have separate barracks/showering facilities for the Male and Female Gays?... Budget$$$
2) You are in a squad.... and maybe one or two are gay or even an "item". If you as a squad leader need to send one out on point or not recommend for promotion or awards.... can they say you did it because they are Gay or worse yet.... the "pair" in a firefight, will they be watching just their "backs" or will they step up for the whole squad. Just think of a married couple...a male and female.... in the squad and bullets fly. Do your loyalties lie in the safety of your wife or husband or is it for the good of the whole squad???
3) Only 10 states recognize gay marriage ( according to Barney...so far ) . Now...if there are bases in those 10 states... and the couple is "married"..now you deal with "family Housing". And then they get stationed in a state that doesn't recognize.... then what? Even the drinking laws were adjusted to 21... the max age of consuption in Civilian jurisdictions.... We use to be able to drink on post with no regard to age more than you are IN the military and had an ID card. Shortly after that, it was changed to the State Age limit and then...on to 21. ( I don't think an 17 or 18 yearold service person really worries about drinking anyway. Thought comes to mind... old enough to take another persons life and carry/utilize weapons that civilians aren't allowed to and NOT being able to have a beer, just bothers me... S-H-I-V-E-R-S....) Budget$$$$$
4) Military Social activities to include Company parties up to formal Military Balls. Picturing the dance partners. Maybe an officer with his "date"... again... promotion, assignments and award questions.????
5) As far as PDA ( Public Displays of Affection) that is frowned upon in many circumstances of military life beyond the departure and homecoming. Even a uniformed person or persons doing something as simple as holding hands can be a precursor to a verbal admonishment by superiors. There is even no fraternizing between Officer and Enlisted in many instances...although it occurs behind the scenes... I knew several officers who "dated" enlisted.... quietly.
I do believe that marriage is MAN and WOMAN ONLY. Our religious and Biological belief backs that. Straights are nicknamed "Breeders". and " be fruitful and multiply" seems like what God meant. I have a problem with children believing they have 2 Mommies or 2 Daddies. Growing up today is confusing enough IMHO. In the end, this will cause more problems than we have taken the time to actually admit. We will also have to BUDGET$$$$ to address this change and ways to implement it. I refuse to equate this as the same as the race issue or even a civil rights issue. I think we would have been better off following the Clinton Doctrine...asking many who served...there seemed to be no real problem. I DO have a problem with CIVILIANS trying to make the military like CIVILIAN. They are not nor should be.
If they want them to be the same..then have the MILITARY eliminate the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) legal system. The Military system has the only system that ALLOWS DOUBLE JEOPARDY. You can be tried, for the same crime, in both...the military court and the Civilian Court for felonies and sentenced twice. Allow the military to "UNIONIZE". If you don't follow orders, all they could do is "FIRE" you, not charge you and give you Company Grade Punishment or worse yet a Court Marshall with possible Prison time...kinda like that recent officer who refused orders to a Combat Zone and now is serving time. MILITARY is NOT the cross section of society. They utilize people from the Cross Section but...they go to Basic or Boot to be MOLDED into the MILITARY LIFE. They are then expected to follow orders, that at times, can mean harm to themselves and to others. Go ahead and ask a civilian, beyond those trained as police or fire to risk their lives.... or to pick up a weapon and shoot at another human or even be told...you will be separated from your family for LONG periods of time... Yeah Right.
So in closing..... leave the MILITARY BE THE MILITARY and CIVILIANS BE CIVILIANS.... THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AND SHOULD NEVER BE. I talk to many who have retired from the military and MOST if not ALL, are glad they don't have this to deal with. It makes their jobs even more complicated and adds extra milestones to cross, when they just might need to concentrate on living. I see this as a disservice to the uniform. I say, serve if you want to, serve honorably, but your sexual or religious orientation is of no concern to me so...don't flaunt it. These are just my findings and opinions. Call me what you may, I don't care. I served with Gays.... and I have had Gay family members.... they never make it an issue so why make it one in the military. It can create hostility, further prejudices and will cost resources that we seem to NOT have.

another sad day for America
It was another sad day on December 22nd, 2010 for America with the signing of the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell which will allow homosexuals and lesbians to serve openly. Sad is putting it mildly.
The Obama administration promised change and we are getting it. By the time he is done so much damage will have occurred that it will take years if ever to put this nation back to where it once was, a Godly nation that was feared, respected and envied by the world. We are now no better then any other nation, maybe worse.
The allowance of sodomites to serve openly is a travesty as far as I am concerned. It is one thing to allow homosexuals a job, everyone needs to earn a living and everyone is entitled to certain unalienable rights but when actions cross moral boundaries and the laws of nature that's where those rights end, the public should not be forced to accept that kind of behavior, especially when representing a nation.
Homosexuality is a behavior problem. You will never convince me otherwise. Even in the homosexual community there are arguments as some say they are born that way while others get upset and say no I wasn't its my choice. And I agree with the later, it is a choice and a choice that should not be forced on me to accept.
All the problems our nation is facing but Obama decides to have our congress and courts tied up with something like this. Even worse we are still in a war, this is not the time to reinvent our military that could unravel our cohesiveness. I thought the armed forces were all about getting the best personal to defend this nation? But now our military is part of all the other social experiments and tinkering that is going on in America. Is this where we want experimentation? What will happen when a homosexual is refused entry or gets a dishonorable discharge, can he scream discrimination like so many others have and win? And what does the term to serve openly mean? Can men now share bunks? I just don't understand this.
All major religions preach against homosexuality and it is the only act mentioned in the bible that it is an abomination to God. If God created people this way then why would he condemn them? Only recently with revisionist fighting to change religion are some churches accepting it. I believe these revisionists are also part of the communist push to do away with religion and this is an avenue to do it. They could never attack our beliefs straight on but they could by eroding the foundation of it. Soon it will be hard to preach what is right and what is wrong. This is nothing more than social engineering at its purest sense. Can a state sponsored church be far off that will tell us what is acceptable to preach and what isn't? We are heading in a dangerous direction.
You wanted the change, I didn't.

I would be willing to bet that none of them ever served in the armed forces. The issue of privacy, actually the lack thereof in military situations, will cause this policy to weaken our armed forces and endanger us if we are ever attacked.

Lets all send a Christmas card to the Rinos
Some of our fine outstanding moral and social Conservatives, some calling themselves Christian Republicans have voted with the liberal homosexual hollywood and socialist/Deomocratic party.
Since they gave us a Christmas present lets send them a Christmas card saying thank you for making the deviant act of homosexual behavior part of our fighting forces. I am so happy that my nation will now be represented by queers.
So Thank you
Susan Collins (R-Maine)
Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska)
Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)
Scott Brown (R-Mass.)
Olympia Snowe (R-Maine)
George Voinovich (R-Ohio)
Thank you for a job well done I feel safer now.

Is this what George Bush Sr. meant when he said a kinder gentler nation??
The proud men of the past who served this nation would vomit if they knew what is going on.
As Mike Huckabee said in his bid for the Republican presidential nominee:
"Let me be very clear - what people do in the privacy of their own lives as adults is their business," Huckabee said. "Don’t want to know; don’t need to know.
"If they bring it into the public square and ask me as a taxpayer to support it or to endorse it, then it becomes a matter of public discussion and, I think, public discourse."

From tax cuts to 2012
Well is everyone having fun watching the game of chess being played in Washington? If you haven't figured out what is going on let me give you my take.
In short, both sides are already campaigning for the 2012 election. Lets take a closer look at this.
Don't you find it a bit strange that the unemployment benefits that were extended ran out the same time the Bush tax cuts were about to end? Some timing huh?
I have to call the Republicans out first because quite frankly I am tired of the games while my country burns. Lets go back at least the last 4 or 5 elections, probably more. What was the battle cry? You have to elect Republicans to stop the homosexual agenda, we kept hearing about Christian/Conservative causes. Did they do anything while they held majority? Nope. Now it seems they got all the mileage they could out of that and its not that big of a battle cry anymore especially when former first lady Laura Bush says she is OK with same sex marriage.
The new carrot being dangled is tax cuts. You need to elect us to keep the tax cuts in place. They used this in the last election and will continue to use it. If not, why aren't the Repubs in power doing all they can to stall until the newly elected reserves will add to the GOP numbers and instead of a two year extension fight to make the tax cuts permanent? Am I missing something?
And on the other side we are now hearing Pres. Obama say we need to work together and compromise. Where was this talk while his socialist agenda was being pushed on us? Now we need to work together?
Furthermore, Obama promised change but he is using an old playbook, even had to call Bill Clinton in to steady his ship. He realized that he lost a major battle in the November elections. So Obama had to back track, surrender and in 2012 will come out as a moderate and say I extended the tax cuts and lengthened unemployment benefits. Brilliant. The dog and pony show the far left is putting on is just that. They need to keep their liberal/ socialist base happy by fanning the flames of class warfare - tax the rich, give to the poor!
They understand the game plan is almost the same one Slick used. Have the president look and act some what moderate but underneath keep the liberal plan in tact. What they will do is hinder, block and try to make life hell for the GOP. If they could make enough Repubs compromise and screw up, the Conservative Right voters will stay home and whamo we are back to square one and the Left will be back with a vengeance. Every time the Dems get in power its a slow tightening of the noose as more of our liberties are weakened or taken away.
So really nothing has changed maybe the new comers will be different but as of now both parties are up to the same old same old. Its all about winning elections and 2012 rather than doing what is right for this country.
Look at the Blue Dog Democrats that lost. Obama trys to spin it as they lost because they were too moderate and not following the liberal agenda. The truth is the Blue Dogs lost because the Democratic Party did not support their reelection. But hold on, the same scenario played out in the Republican Party. The GOP could of won a few more seats if they would of backed some of the Tea Party candidates as Christine O'Donnell. She didn't follow the establishment plan and they didn't back her.
Which brings us from tax cuts to the 2012 election and who the nominees for president will be. But I know you hate reading anything to long so you will have to wait until my next email.

Obama threatens Internet
What did I tell my friends about the Internet just recently? I said watch what is going to happen with the Wiki Leaks, it will renew the effort of Obama to seize control over the Internet and say its for America's safety.
When Wiki Leaks first happened they didn't do anything about it, they let it go on. Now suddenly its urgent. Another crisis for more government control. Makes you wonder what is going on. Are these crisis's government sponsored?

You best be worried about your freedom of speech. People as myself who blog and try to reveal the truth can be severely censored. Political action and religious groups would also be restricted and only those that are pro-state will be allowed. Trust me.

Grassfire Nation Update
On December 20, President Obama will use the FCC to seize control of the Internet. If successful, the move could have a devastating impact on the U.S. economy, investments and innovation while squelching your freedom of speech!

President Obama and Elitist liberals want to seize control of the Internet and they don't want you, or your elected officials to have a say about it!
Knowing they don't have the votes in Congress, liberals are instead relying on the Federal Communications Commission to seize control of the Internet through what is called ""Net Neutrality"" -- a series of rules that would empower the federal government to regulate the Internet in the name of "freedom".
Just a year ago, the Huffington Post's Joseph A. Palermo called on Obama to use the FCC to "lock in this advantage" and guarantee ""progressive social change.""
This was the liberal plan when Democrats controlled Congress. But having lost power in the House, they are more desperate then ever to advance their progressive, socialist agenda and are about to seize the last free-market frontier in the world -- the Internet... Unless we can stop them.
Days before the FCC's December 20 introduction of the new Net Neutrality rules, Grassfire Nation will deliver your petitions to each of the five FCC commissioners including chairman, and Obama appointee, Julius Genachowski.
Not surprisingly, little has been reported about the true nature of Net Neutrality. When the chairman announced to the media his draft rules memo, he did so saying, it would "preserve the freedom and openness of the Internet."
The draft also included an official FCC "NONPUBLIC, internal use only" stamp to assure that no one outside the FCC sees the document until the rules are approved on December 21... So much for freedom and openness!
This is why we cannot delay. We can't allow Obama and the FCC to put this "present" beneath the Christmas trees of Americans.

+ + How many petitions Grassfire Nation delivers depends on you are you ready to have your Internet usage regulated and your free speech rights undermined by the federal government?
Unless Americans respond in force, that could be the holiday forecast. Obama views control of the Internet as an essential step in deciding content and usage.
In other words, he wants the federal government to determine what you see and read on the Internet!
Grassfire Nation is counting on you to help us mount a sensational nationwide resistance against this power-grab.

We cannot allow these kinds of assaults on our freedoms to go unchecked. Please take immediate action today.
Thank you for standing with Grassfire Nation.

Does anyone else see the irony
Does anyone else see the irony of Glenn Beck's actions?
Taken from WTAM 100:
STRONGSVILLE -- Nearly two feet of snow whipped through Northeast Ohio by Monday night, but that did not stop television and radio host Glenn Beck, or his fans.
Hundreds of Beck fans gathered at Wal Mart in Strongsville for his book tour promoting his latest book "Broke". While staff at the Wal Mart said they expected between 600-800 people for the book signing, less were in attendance due to inclement weather.
Surrounded by three of his own security guards, Beck signed books of those who purchased his latest book at participating Wal Mart's and waited in line. One man had waited in line to get his book signed and to meet Beck since midnight the night before.
Other fans stood in line up to six hours to get their copy of "Broke" signed.
Beck's book tour continues Tuesday in Akron. Along with writing books and hosting a television show on FOX, Beck also hosts his own syndicated radio show which can be heard on WTAM 1100 9:00 am - Noon Monday through Friday.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also heard that Glenn would not sign the book unless you bought it from Wal Mart and had a receipt. Do you see the irony in this? He is all about saving America and yet he chooses to have a book signing at Wal Mart that has done so much damage to little stores forcing many to close and ruining many cities and towns across America. This is the same Walmart that has shelves filled with cheaply made Chinese products. I am not sure if I follow this mans thinking. IF he was the real deal and wanted to save America and help the little man, why not have book signings across America at smaller or independent stores?
Someone explain.
Cleveland Sports for December 2010
Hey Gang,
Cleveland may finally get a championship. Yes a new team is coming to our area. We received the OK to have a female lingerie football team play in our community.
They will wear scantly dressed undergarments with all the necessary pads required and helmets. Seven on offense and seven on defense, indoor play league rules. I am wondering would these women be athletes or dancers from a nearby strip club like crazy horse. Would the coaches and referees be male wearing thong striped outs fits. Or would the male cheerleaders be the ones wearing the thongs. What about PSL and season ticket holders, for ticket purchases?
I find this to be completely outrageous. With all the serious problems that we are facing , this is what will save Cleveland and our County.
Whose bright idea was it Dimora or Russo's?
Thanks :
Joe U
Joe I hear and feel your pain. And I am sure housewives will just love lingerie football. Its not bad enough that on Sundays most men are glued staring at the TV screen watching pro-football, now this!
I was asked what pads the women would be wearing. Ummm lets not go there.
This brings new meaning to the term - naked bootleg.
Onto other sports news in our fine city.
Mayor Jackson is already promoting the Gay Games in Cleveland. Nothing like promoting a controversial lifestyle to take our minds off of controversial politics and corruption in the city.
One sponsor they should try to get is Slick 50. After all it is the best lubricant known to man.
Cleveland basketball fans are trying to figure out whats worse, having LeBron here winning 60 games and getting easily knocked out of the playoffs or with him gone and getting knocked out of the playoffs in the first week of the season.
But Browns fans are excited. This has to be the best losing teem Cleveland has had in a long time.
Breaking news... this just in.... Browns are officially eliminated from the playoffs. No kidding!
The Indians organization aren't going to agressively try selling season tickets, instead they will concentrate on trying to sell - A ticket.
From the land of wait till next year,
Carey
sports talk - politics and Luke Scott
Taken from a Yahoo news story two weeks ago:
The slower-than-expected start for the Heat has resonated all the way to Washington, where President Barack Obama said before the game in an interview with ABC that it “takes some time for the team to come together.”
Even Magic coach Stan Van Gundy, told of Obama’s comments, joined in the fun.
“I know there’s a lot of time in the day, but I’d be more confident if he didn’t know what was going on in the NBA,” Van Gundy said, chuckling about Obama’s remarks. “We got to get some people back to work. I don’t think he needs to be worried about turning the Heat around. Let (Heat coach) Erik (Spoelstra) worry about that, because Erik certainly isn’t turning the economy around.”
At this rate, Spoelstra might contribute to the job losses
.............................................
Luke Scott for sports figure of the year - a true American!
"Luke Scott plays for the Baltimore Orioles, taken from an interview he recently did"
I'm a big fan of Ted Nugent because he's a "keep it real" type of guy. He respects wildlife, he loves to hunt. I look at Ted Nugent and ... he's an American. He has the core beliefs of what it means to be an American in his heart. He lives by those beliefs and those principles. It's the same beliefs that our forefathers, who fought for our country, have. I'd be real interested in meeting him one day.
First of all, the reason the second amendment was put into place was to keep the government from controlling the people. History will tell you everything. Just look at anywhere else in the world. Look at Russia, look at Eastern Europe, look at South America. Gun control means control. It means control for the government and the government starts controlling the people.
I've spent time in Venezuela. I played down there. I've seen what happens with the people down there. People are in the streets throwing rocks and they're getting mowed down with machine guns. It has nothing to do with crime. Crime is actually less in places where people own guns. Washington, D.C. is a case in point. It has the strictest gun laws, but who has the highest crime rate in the country? Washington, D.C.
Basically, what you've done is, you've told the man who pays his bills and minds his own business, who's trying to protect his family and provide for his family, if you take away his gun [and] you give him a golf club or a baseball bat, or a knife, and if the criminal has a gun, he's going to win that battle 10 out of 10 times.
The real issue behind these people who are gun grabbers, the truth is — based on fact — the reason why is, they want control. They want control of the people. That's what socialism is and communism.
The law is made for law-abiding citizens. The guy who you don't have to worry about robbing you, the guy who pays his taxes, the guy who has a job, the guy who's not interested in hurting people. He's not the rapist, he's not the killer. He's the one who's going to follow the law. Now, the law can say you can't have a gun, but the thug, gangster, rapist and criminal — the thief — they're not going to obey the law anyway. It doesn't even apply.
Obama ... hmm ... Obama does not represent America. Nor does he represent anything what our forefathers stood for. This country is basically built on an attitude. It's a way of life. It's not because you're born here. It's not that you're supposed to take from those who have and give to those who haven't. That kills a country. It killed Russia.
I have friends of mine who are in the ministry who [work] in churches in Russia. If they can describe [the country] in one [phrase], it's "messed up beyond repair."
That's what communism does. Cuba, Venezuela. People are trying to escape these lands like a plague. What would make a human being swim 90 miles in shark-infested waters on a raft made of tires and planks? To leave their culture, their family, their language, their way of life. Everything they've ever known. What would make someone do that?
You don't see people in America doing that. There's no one here in America swimming the Pacific Ocean — or the Atlantic, or the Caribbean — to leave this place. The reason why is because of the freedom. Freedom for a man to mark out his own destiny. It's not, "Hey, you have so much." Hey, that person worked for that. That's not to be taken and given to someone who didn't put in the time, the effort, and do his part.
Obama, he doesn't represent that. He represents, "Hey, everyone. Give me votes and I'll give you stuff." And there's even people on TV who [are asked], "Hey, who you voting for?" "I'm voting for Obama." "Why?" "So I can get more free stuff."
That's not what makes this country great. That's what tears down a people, tears down nations. Hence, the problem we're having in this country, where we're experiencing unemployment. We're experiencing all of these negative things that are happening in our land as a direct result of that type of attitude — of too much government involvement, of moral decay, and of people lacking honor and integrity.
Eighty years ago, 50 years ago, a man would walk up to another man and go in for loan. He'd extend his hand, he'd shake it and he'd look at the man and he'd say, "I'll pay this back." He would do it. You couldn't even ... to even mention that [scenario] today ... is that a cartoon fantasy? That's how far we are removed.
DB: Word was bond.
LS: Yeah. We had a bond. That type of attitude has disappeared as a whole. Now, it's OK for me to cheat, to steal, to step on somebody, to cheat somebody, to do something to make someone [else] fall, so I can get ahead in life. And people accept that and they go home and they sleep at night. Whereas, the former attitude of America was, "I'm going to work my tail off, and if it doesn't work out for me ... "
You know, I didn't have the same opportunity growing up, as some people. I also had more opportunity than others. Whatever is given to that person, whatever you do with it is what makes the difference. And that's what has happened in this country: People want the same result, but they don't want to pay the same price. They want equality, but not by earning it — they want it given to them.
It's a recipe for disaster and it will kill the entire nation.
DB: Are you planning on running for office in 15 years or so?
LS: If I ran for office, I would be loved and hated. Because, I've always been this way as a person. I believe what I believe in for a reason. Compromise is not in my blueprint. It's not in my DNA. We've had poor leadership in this country, poor leadership in Congress and positions of authority. People are willing to compromise their beliefs, compromise for votes. I'll say something to somebody to get their vote, but if I have to compromise what I believe in, there's no honor in that. There's no integrity. That's not a leader.
Leaders are people who you follow because they believe in honor, integrity, accountability, responsibility, and they believe in these things. You know what? Their life reflects it through their actions. They're not going to do anything to get ahead. Hey, if I get ahead, it's going to be good for me, personally, but at the cost of what?
DB: You don't think that Obama wasn't born in the United States, do you?
LS: He was not born here. That's my belief. I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go — within 10 minutes — to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, "See? Look! Here it is. Here it is." The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn't answer anything. And why? Because he's hiding something.
You know what? People who have bad intentions, people that are deceivers or are not of honor and integrity — that's how they act. I've seen it in every — it doesn't matter what level. It can be in politics, it can be in business, it can be in sports, it can be in the construction field. Doesn't matter. It's all the same attitude. It's the same thing.
People who tell the truth, they're very easy to ... their actions prove it. Something as simple providing a birth certificate. Come on. If you're born here, there's plenty of documents. But you know what? There's no documentation of him. No legal documentation of him. There's been lie after lie after lie exposed, but people put it under the carpet. Hence, the problem we have in this country.
LS: There needs to be accountability for the truth. I don't care if you're the President of the United States, you need to be held accountable. If you're involved in treacherous acts, or you're saying things that are against, or are selling out our country, you should be brought to trial.
I mean, no one's above the law. There's a lot of people that fought for their country and that's not something to be taken lightly. They gave their life, everything they had, they gave their lives, to give us what we have. That's why I'm so passionate about my beliefs -- because someone died. They gave their life, their blood was spilled, so I had an opportunity to chase a dream and play baseball for a living.
For me, that's not something, "Oh, thank you." No. "THANK YOU." Let me honor you for that by actions by sticking up for what you fought for and passing it on to the next generation and doing my part.
Now, it's OK for me to cheat, to steal, to step on somebody, to cheat somebody, to do something to make someone [else] fall, so I can get ahead in life. And people accept that and they go home and they sleep at night. Whereas, the former attitude of America was, "I'm going to work my tail off, and if it doesn't work out for me ... "
You know, I didn't have the same opportunity growing up, as some people. I also had more opportunity than others. Whatever is given to that person, whatever you do with it is what makes the difference. And that's what has happened in this country: People want the same result, but they don't want to pay the same price. They want equality, but not by earning it — they want it given to them.
It's a recipe for disaster and it will kill the entire nation.
DB: Are you planning on running for office in 15 years or so?
LS: If I ran for office, I would be loved and hated. Because, I've always been this way as a person. I believe what I believe in for a reason. Compromise is not in my blueprint. It's not in my DNA. We've had poor leadership in this country, poor leadership in Congress and positions of authority. People are willing to compromise their beliefs, compromise for votes. I'll say something to somebody to get their vote, but if I have to compromise what I believe in, there's no honor in that. There's no integrity. That's not a leader.
Leaders are people who you follow because they believe in honor, integrity, accountability, responsibility, and they believe in these things. You know what? Their life reflects it through their actions. They're not going to do anything to get ahead. Hey, if I get ahead, it's going to be good for me, personally, but at the cost of what?
DB: You don't think that Obama wasn't born in the United States, do you?
LS: He was not born here. That's my belief. I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go — within 10 minutes — to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, "See? Look! Here it is. Here it is." The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn't answer anything. And why? Because he's hiding something.
You know what? People who have bad intentions, people that are deceivers or are not of honor and integrity — that's how they act. I've seen it in every — it doesn't matter what level. It can be in politics, it can be in business, it can be in sports, it can be in the construction field. Doesn't matter. It's all the same attitude. It's the same thing.
People who tell the truth, they're very easy to ... their actions prove it. Something as simple providing a birth certificate. Come on. If you're born here, there's plenty of documents. But you know what? There's no documentation of him. No legal documentation of him. There's been lie after lie after lie exposed, but people put it under the carpet. Hence, the problem we have in this country.
LS: There needs to be accountability for the truth. I don't care if you're the President of the United States, you need to be held accountable. If you're involved in treacherous acts, or you're saying things that are against, or are selling out our country, you should be brought to trial.
I mean, no one's above the law. There's a lot of people that fought for their country and that's not something to be taken lightly. They gave their life, everything they had, they gave their lives, to give us what we have. That's why I'm so passionate about my beliefs -- because someone died. They gave their life, their blood was spilled, so I had an opportunity to chase a dream and play baseball for a living.
For me, that's not something, "Oh, thank you." No. "THANK YOU." Let me honor you for that by actions by sticking up for what you fought for and passing it on to the next generation and doing my part.
I added to the original posting:
Can it be, nahhh it can't be, not in Cuyahoga County, there can't be anymore hanky panky going on.
Sad! Third world politics are going on here. But really you can blame the voters, the same ones who put criminal slick back in, charlie wrangler and yes the Cleveland shake down artists.
This happened Monday morning:
There will be a meeting of the Cuyahoga County Council-elect tomorrow morning at 8:00 am at the Cleveland State University Levin College of Urban Affairs building in the Bonda room on the second floor. One very significant topic of discussion will likely be the very recent action of a limited number of Democratic members-elect who met in private and at a member's house to select who they wanted to have as their President of Council. If you believe as I do, then you are probably appalled at this display of "corrupt politics as usual" for Cuyahoga county. If you are available to attend this meeting, it would be valuable to have a presence at this meeting to express dissatisfaction at this kind of behavior.
Today my friend Joe sent me his rant about politics as usual in Cleveland.
According to the Plain Dealer and the web, this new county council that was just elected took it upon themselves and held a secret meeting . The meeting was attended by Democrats, that were elected by the people to represent Cuyahoga County to nominate a likely president. I am outraged this new form of government was supposed to bring a new way of doing things, instead we have new faces and the same old mentality going on. Why could not these people wait for the public meeting to occur and air out their problems or issues? No, instead they held a private meeting in the hopes of circumventing the natural process and avoid the transparency that the public was promised when this system was first promoted to us..
We were promise no more closed door deals. These people are acting like the current Euclid Mayor, and doing business in the same manner that he is.
I am glad that I am more of a Populist Democrat vs just a Democrat. I am ashamed at what has recently transpired with this new board. The bonds of promised trust have been compromised ,and now we the people need to be very vigilant of what is happening in the county level.
I wish that the public at large would have voted in more Independents, Republicans, and non political agenda people than what they did. The selection of a leader should have happened during the general assembly meeting, not inside someones home with only a handful of people to the the decision.
Next thing you maybe will see is more of the political favoritism going around that occurred with Dimora and Russo leadership.Or maybe yet this group will take it upon themselves to drop all charges against the guilty.
I ask that all good and decent citizens in Cuyahoga County call, write to, or even write to the newspaper and demand that this highly controversial meeting be rescinded and allow the natural procedures to take place in a public forum.
Both Connally and Miller have done tons of damage that can never be forgiven.
feedback - Demise of Christmas
Hey Gang,
I received some excellent feedback once again from you. Thanks. There are other things I hate as you pointed out below. One is the rushing of seasons. Thanksgiving is given less and less importance. Its almost being overlooked. Tree lighting ceremonies in some cities a week before Thanksgiving. Crazy!
But lets try to keep alive the true spirit and nature of Christmas as some of you are doing.
Merry Christmas,
Carey
I agree, we're forgetting why we have Christmas -- even worse for Easter.
I particularly don't like the designation "Black Friday". In the German Lutheran tradition Good Friday is "Schwartz Freitag" or translated to English "Black Friday" (from the color of the alter vestments). I find it offensive to use the same term to describe the day on which Christ paid for the sins of all mankind and a day which celebrates hedonistic materialism.
Fortunately, there are still people doing the right thing. Sunday the Messiah was performed at St Gabe's I think it was about the fiftieth time, unfortunately I wasn't' able to attend. Trinity Lutheran on the west side periodically does Bach's Weinachts Oratoriam (don't' know if I spelled that right). Our Church, Zion Lutheran in Painesville, has been doing the Boar's Head Festival (a 600+ year old celebration of Christ's birth) for the last four or five years. So in our Christmas celebration, as well as in politics, the people have some of it right even though the establishment doesn't.
Have a blessed Christmas and New Year
So, I'm going to drag out my soapbox and shout out: "Whatever happened to ADVENT?!?!?" Everyone's complained for years that the commercial establishments start pushing their merchandise earlier & earlier--but I'm afraid that we're all buying right into it.
Our whole street is alit with lights & displays, Christmas trees glowing in picture windows, wreaths & garlands hung & strung. Invitations for "holiday" parties and Xmas cards featuring Santa Claus are starting to arrive.
I find myself well behind the curve then. Relatives and friends think I'm lazy for not having decorations arranged and presents bought & wrapped. By December 27th I'm accused again of being a procrastinator! Why? Because all their Christmas trees will have been dismantled the day before and Christmas music will be considered overplayed. But I've always liked to follow the tradition of my paternal grandma, Myrtle (God rest her good soul), who always kept her tree up till the day after Epiphany. You know, to welcome & honor the Three Kings.
But it's not just a matter of following Gramma's custom, according to my December issue of "Magnificat," December 31st is the 7th Day in the Octave of Christmas for the Roman Catholic Church's liturgical calendar.
I'm really glad for the "Merry Christmas" movement vs. one of the original "politically correct" sayings of "Happy Holidays." As you've pointed out, though, there's still a ways to go. Just saw an ad urging folks to go & see "Burlesque" for the "holiday season." The Smithsonian is spotlighting a special exhibit with "art" such as ants crawling on a crucifix, two brothers kissing, and "Ellen Degenerate" grabbing her boobs. Wikileaks. . .
So, bro, I'll step off my battered, well-worn soapbox (another of my Gramma's sayings, actually!) and hope that all is well with you & yours. I've recently become a volunteer interpreter up at the James A. Garfield National Historic Site and so have been studying intensely on the fascinating people who used to live there (so that's my excuse for not catching up on your trip to the other side of the globe); times change but human beings usually don't! Thank God we can pray! Christmas will always remain in our hearts!
Take care,
Annie
The slow but sure demise of Christmas
The slow but sure demise of Christmas. Oh this has been going on for sometime now. The rulings that have outlawed manger scenes from public displays unless you give equal time to other religions such as Islam and the acceptance of pagan holidays such as Kwanzaa, hearing more and more about the madness of black Friday and whether sales figures will be up have all contributed to the watering down of the Christmas season.
But the elimination of Christmas was never more evident than at the 2010 Winterfest held in downtown Cleveland this past weekend. Maybe I shouldn't of been to surprised because the name does give a hint as to what the festival was to hold but I still was taken aback.
I have been going to see the light display in Cleveland since a child when my parents would drive the family down there. I carried on the tradition of making it habit to see the display all but the last five years or so. This year I went with my best friend and his family because his children never got to experience it. I wish I would of not attended so my memory of how things were would not of been ruined by the present. It's sad what the Christmas season has turned into.
The name of the event held in Cleveland says it all - Winterfest - which is a joke because we are not officially in winter yet. A winter fest should be held when? in winter, say January or February. This is the Christmas season - period.
The light display itself was lame, just lame and not worth the gas to go see it. I saw no theme. I saw no wreaths. I saw no bells. No snowmen. No trains, nothing! And definitely not a sign or hint of the word Christmas. Nada!
The MC's of the event did all they could to try to keep the crowd enthused and build they hype of the lighting ceremony. Mayor Jackson said a few words welcoming everyone and so did other notable people and councilman of Cleveland. Unless I missed it, I didn't hear any of them say Merry Christmas. I did hear welcome to Winterfest. The entertainment was OK. Even though a few of the songs we scratched our heads trying to figure out what that had to with Christmas. And the girl group the Pink Stilettos were good but they came from Salt Lake City. C'mon Cleveland you couldn't find a local group?
After the square was lit and the fireworks display we ventured inside of Tower City and were greeted by the same thing inside. Lame! The decorations were sparse and we couldn't find much of anything that said Christmas. We quickly left.
I brought home two things from the event. One was the program of the Winterfest. I grabbed it so I could send it to my over seas friend as a souvenir of an American Christmas celebration. But upon reading and witnessing what I saw, the booklet ended up in the trash. In the whole fifteen pages of the program were only three mentions of the word Christmas. Two of them were in ads from the Old Stone Church on pages 8 & 10 and on page 9 was an ad for Scrooges Night Out. That's it! No other mention or hint of Christmas.
The other thing I brought home was a political paper someone handed to my friend. He gave it to me cause he knows I am into politics. The paper was a newspaper from the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA. I will quote just one sentence from it.
"The truth is, there are no gods... and we don't need them."
Judging from the Winterfest Cleveland has really taken that communist message to heart. As I never saw or heard mentioned God or Christmas anywhere in downtown other than from a group from Akron Bible Baptist Church preaching the gospel on the street.
Merry Christmas,
Carey Masci
For those who may be upset about what I said about Kwanzaa, just do the research. This is only one I pulled off the web.
During the early years of Kwanzaa, Karenga said that it was meant to be an alternative to Christmas, that Jesus was psychotic, and that Christianity was a white religion that black people should shun. However, as Kwanzaa gained mainstream adherents, Karenga altered his position so that practicing Christians would not be alienated, then stating in the 1997 Kwanzaa: A Celebration of Family, Community, and Culture, "Kwanzaa was not created to give people an alternative to their own religion or religious holiday."
Keep an eye on my You Tube page, humminaaa, as I will be posting some clips on it soon, one is from John from the Akron Bible Baptist church.
Three Dumb Things Democrats Said To Carey Recently.
Hey Gang,
Sometimes I wish I didn't have a photographic memory so I wouldn't remember all the dumb stuff people say to me. Like these.
Three Dumb Things Democrats Said To Carey Recently.
1. Whats happen if you marry that girl, what will your Republican friends think of you marrying a foreigner?
2. Someone I know is extremely Liberal and he is always trying to persuade me to his side. I mentioned what about all the corruption in Cleveland, trying to persuade him to MY side. He said " Two of my favorite cities are NY and Chicago. They probably have the most corruption in America and look at them how successful they are. Maybe Cleveland is too honest and doesn't have enough corruption."
3. I was talking to a Liberal Democrat business owner whom I deal with for my janitorial business. He also preaches at me. So I asked him about the nations debt since he is a businessman, he replied, "Its only paper who cares about the debt, just print more." Friends, he was serious.
When I told my friend Wayne this he replied with:
I find it weird that a Businessman would agree to defund the very piece of paper that defines his reason to be a businessman. In the last few weeks, Walmart has shown that what was $50 worth of groceries now...weeks later, costs $55.... 10%. So this businessman now likes that even HIS dollar is worth 10% less and he has to pay $11 for $10 worth of supplies he needs. This guy is an can shy of a six-pack. Maybe he doesn't know about Zimbabwe or even Weimar Germany.... a wheelbarrow of marks (3,000,000,000) for a loaf to be more exact.
If it is ONLY PAPER, why does he seek it??
Sky Pilot by The Animals
I have never been an anti-war protester but the words of many songs in the 60's are quite chilling and make you think.
Listen to this rendition of Sky Pilot done in 2006. Eric can still sing.
Pay attention at 4:50 and the change of lyrics
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6-rzCW3HT0&feature=related
The Original Lyrics read
You'll never, never, never reach the sky
You're soldiers of God you must understand
The fate of your country is in your young hands
May God give you strength
Do your job real well
If it all was worth it
Only time it will tell
Your words, various topics
Friends,
It can take up a lot of time doing what I do by keeping your words and bundling them together but its worth it, I think we all learn something. At times I comment, other times I stand corrected and leave your words as is, as in this email. Thanks for your informative comments. And if any of you want your name to appear differently, just let me know.
Thanks Again,
Carey
In response to my trip to the Philippines
Isn't it something how people from other countries love us but not our elected officials. Isn't it something how our presidents have appointed the same persons to key positions. Isn't it something that our elected and appointed don't invest in sending our best and brightest kids to these third world countries to learn the views and opinions of these wonderful people.
The world is a college and we are wasting our kids future by sending them to buildings full of teachers with low IQ's that teach them mediocrity.
May I succeed in inspiring those around me to step up and seek to change the change that is needed.
The Russians got Obama into office and its just a matter of time he turns into the monster we fear him to be. Long live Liberty, peace and freedom!
My take on all this is...
Taxes in the US are the lowest world wide... you guys have nothing to complain about.
I pay over 10 dollars a gallon for gas in Germany.... and you guys complain about a 15 cent price jump...
Indonesian and Philippine corruption is well over US standards.. there is corruption everywhere... it is the safeguards in place to prevent corruption... transparency.... that keeps US corruption lower... not within my standards... but you will NEVER get rid of it. Feel blessed you don't live in the Philippines or Indonesia, places where you don't have a little piece of paper with your photo on it that says you can travel to any country in the world without any limitations...
just my opinion...
Oh.. and by the way.. I have been recycling trash and so has everyone else in Germany for the past 10 years or more... keeps the dumps from filling up quicker.. but I always remember a friend of a friend.. (someone I did not hang around with) who used to just lump all his garbage in one bag at his home.. and take it to work a week or two later in his car, and then drive all his co workers to lunch in his car... and boy did it stink... on top of it... he tried to cover up the smell with old spice aftershave.... All the Germans looked down on him for being so lazy... and what is worse is... they viewed him as a typical American... gives a new meaning to "ugly American" Doesn't it?
On the election
Rob Portman takes Ohio, and one of my new favorite states New Hampshire, goes red also. With the economy being the number one issue. The unemployment rate has been over 9%, in Reagan percentages, it is about 17.5 % unemployment. Wow.
One of Ohio's slogans has been "It's the heart of it all." (perhaps because Ohio is shaped like a heart?) Yet now, we take control of the house with John Boehner, we'll see if conservatism will last...
I voted for Robert Owens instead of Mike DeWine for atty. general. From my research on their qualifications I found Mr.Owens greatly superior to Mr DeWine.Frankly I wasn't sure whether DeWine or Cordray was worse. So I decided that if you vote for the lesser of two evils you are still getting evil.
I was pretty sure that Mr Owens would not do well because far too many people vote for the party rather than the person, but I was hoping to see him do much better. This would have sent a message to the GOP to at least give us a choice in the primaries instead of forcing good people (Seth Morgan) out and leaving us only with junk to vote for.
About your word - for the race for CA governor, it wouldn't have mattered. Even if Whitman the RINO had gotten all the percentages of the 3rd parties added to her, she still would have lost to Brown. He got 54% of the vote. Maybe the National GOP still has a chance, but the CA GOP is a lost cause. They are so liberal and so progressive that people can't see much of a difference between the CA GOP and a *moderate* democrat, and when that happens they opt for the democrat every time. Emily
A thank you from Tony
I am truly blessed to have met each and every one of you! I want to assure you I will not not ride off into the sunset. Rather I view this State Representative Campaign as the beginning of the beginning. Each person I met contributed much to success of this endeavor. I cannot find the appropriate words that describe how Livia and I feel so I will have to say a big....................
THANK YOU! YOU ARE A GREAT AMERICAN!
On Democracy vs a Republic
Yes I agree Carey that we are a nation of laws. We are not ruled by the majority and the word democracy does not appear in the constitution or bill of rights. I also agree that the democrats want larger government control and that the republicans want smaller government control. Joe U
It can take up a lot of time doing what I do by keeping your words and bundling them together but its worth it, I think we all learn something. At times I comment, other times I stand corrected and leave your words as is, as in this email. Thanks for your informative comments. And if any of you want your name to appear differently, just let me know.
Thanks Again,
In response to my trip to the Philippines
Isn't it something how people from other countries love us but not our elected officials. Isn't it something how our presidents have appointed the same persons to key positions. Isn't it something that our elected and appointed don't invest in sending our best and brightest kids to these third world countries to learn the views and opinions of these wonderful people.
The world is a college and we are wasting our kids future by sending them to buildings full of teachers with low IQ's that teach them mediocrity.
May I succeed in inspiring those around me to step up and seek to change the change that is needed.
The Russians got Obama into office and its just a matter of time he turns into the monster we fear him to be. Long live Liberty, peace and freedom!
little joy in victory
Friends,
I only felt brief elation at Tuesdays victory party. I felt as happy as I was sad. We made gains but have not won the war. All of the organizers of the tea parties, home groups, conservative social networking sites, and Conservative candidates feel proud that you have made a difference. Thank you, and yes I take it personally as if you did it for me. So take a bow but there is still much work to be done to wrestle this free nation back from the grip of socialism and the liberal agenda.
Analyzing things.
In Cuyahoga County SAD is the word. The people of that county are spiritually blind and need a revival. Corruption is rampant, population loss has yet to bottom out, high taxes, high unemployment and yet they elect the status. Why the voters didn't give someone like Tony Hocevar a chance is beyond my comprehension. Nothing will change in that county.
It gets even more ridiculous. Because of corruption the people chose to have a County Executive, which wasn't needed if the residents would of just voted out the criminals. But since they voted for the position then they should of elected a Republican as a counter balance to the mostly Democratic government or better yet, an Independent. Instead they elect a Democrat as a County Exec over looking his cronies. How will this breed honesty? It won't.
In Lake County Bob Murphy lost the race of commissioner to long time incumbent Dan Troy. Dans photo with Russo and Dimora and ties with other Cuyahoga Dems was enough for me to see the warning signs. For some reason even here in Lake County people look the other way and vote just because of the letter in front of the name.
The earliest called winner of the night was Rob Portman for senator from Ohio and he also had one of the biggest margins of victories. The Dems ran ads against him always aligning or associating Portman with Bush. I didn't see this in any other race, maybe there was but I didn't notice it. The Dems strategy backfired. I think reminding people of Bush made them very nostalgic.
I do not like Murkowski. She is arrogant and is putting herself first over party and nation. She is doing nothing but dividing the state of Alaska. If she was so concerned about the nation she would of endorsed Joe Miller in the primary and unified the Tea Party and Republican Party. What does the opposition say? The Democrat candidate who lost and bowed out made a concession call to Murkowski. This should show you who the Liberals want to hold office.
The GOP has to be careful that they do not alienate the Tea Party as Murkowski is doing. For those who may not remember it was this sort of action back in 1970 that spawned the Libertarian Party. The Republicans strayed from their principles and the party was split. The Tea Party has to hold the GOP to the fire and change it from within. The GOP has to quit playing games with us also. Either this is the party of limited government, conservative values, and individual freedoms or it isn't. If they are going to run campaigns and talk as if they are then we the voters should DEMAND they uphold their words, nothing short of this will do. And groups such as Slovak Moms Heritage home group or Paul Prince's Mentor 9/12 have to continue to be watchdogs for us to make sure party by-laws are being fulfilled.
A Word to my friends.
I know some of you voted for the Constitution Party or other conservative party and I can't find to much fault for voting your conscience but I myself decided not to do that, this election was far to important. I was already planning and voting for the next primary.
We were trying to do two things. One, vote out of office as many Socialist Dems as possible and two, rebuild the GOP back into a Conservative Party. Think of it in sports terms. Every year there is training camp for teams. The coach weeds out the bad players and tries to replace them with more qualified. Thats how we need to view this. Do not abandon the Republican Party, help rebuild it. We know we are safe with people like Rep. Ron Paul, Rep. Steve King and locally with Rep. Ron Young and Rep. Tim Grendel. So what we need to is keep an eye on the moderates and see how they are leaning. To far to the left, give them hell and vote them OUT next primary! Thats how you rebuild.
So rejoice for the next few days if you want but lets not relax to long, we haven't restored anything yet.
Friends,
I am very anxious right now, sort of the feeling one gets when standing in front of a judge awaiting the verdict.
Let me refresh you memory. It was two years ago I started getting demands from Euclid for my houses and it was March 2009 I received a warrant for my arrest and was arrested out of work in May of that same year. My crime: Having my nephew stay in my rental property without registering and receiving a permit from the city. That's the short of it.
So why am I anxious? Today's election outcome shows the direction America is headed. Do we continue on the path of BIG government, socialist policies or is it a new dawn of awakening the true American spirit of freedom and telling the government hands off, this is my life, my property, my money.
If people vote for the status and things stay the same its carte blanche for the government to continue onward running our lives and telling us what to do and how to do it. And this will certainly gives cities like Euclid the green light to continue their policies.
If freedom wins we can all breath a sigh of relief. But we can't get complacent. We must start immediately to restore the liberties that were snatched away and over turn every socialist law that has been put in place.
The more laws are enacted, the more innocent people are found guilty.
I pray that my peers have realized what big government has done to this great nation. It is smothering the American dream and spirit. We must not let the flame be extinguished.
Remember the words of The Declaration of Independence, ..... We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights, among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.....
Big government and socialism only takes, it never gives anything in return.
Please vote responsibly and support the Right side of the ballot.
Sincerely,
Carey Masci
Seven Candidates - Grendel and Brommer
I hear a lot of complaints about our leaders and elected officials. And I keep telling people NOT all are thieving liars. You need to attend the different functions, you need to meet the candidates face to face to find out. Here are a few that I endorse.
It was hard to narrow it down of whom to endorse as I have met many fine qualified people. So this is my short list of seven candidates that I believe are honest, have integrity, still believe in America and that can make a difference. Most of these candidates have never held office before. I call this the year of the businessman/non-politician.
6. Senator Tim Grendel candidate State Rep. Ohio House 98th District
Senator Grendel explains why the decision to run for state representative:
"I believe that I can be even more effective in representing my constituents as a refreshed state representative than as a lame duck state senator. As a member of the Ohio House, I will continue to use my successful legislative experience and advocacy skills to protect the citizens of Geauga and Cuyahoga counties, and Northeastern, Ohio."
Grendel said he wants to continue to fight for residents on issues such as tax relief, local control over oil and gas drilling, reasonable household septic system regulations, and government restructuring and reform.
Senator Grendel is a true champion of liberty, defender of the Constitution and protector of individual rights. Its very important for all of us that Grendel gets elected.
4. Roy Brommer candidate Ashtabula County Auditor
Roy has run his own business for many years and serves on the Roaming Shores Village Council other than that has never held office. He is the father of a long time friend of mine but that's not why I endorse him. Its because of his successful business experience and honesty.
I said it years ago that the rise in property value was a ploy for the government to raise property tax. Sure it looked good for the added equity you suddenly had but it is part of the foreclosure mess.
When I read Roy Brommer's letter to his constituents I was excited that people are finally waking up and no longer afraid to tell the truth.
Roy Brommer writes:
My opponent during a time of unprecedented foreclosures, a mortgage crisis, and one of the worse economies in decades had the nerve to over inflate the value of properties... to bring more tax revenue in.
People can barely make payments and Roy's opponent is busy raising property values that many banks won't even recognize just to increase tax revenue. That my friend is evil and the Dems have done this all over.
We need to elect people like Roy Brommer.
People tell me all the time but what can I do? Simple - Get Involved! With modern technology such as cell phones and the Internet its very easy to do so. Contact these candidates and ask for voter lists and make calls on their behalf, blast out emails in their support, post this message and others on different forums and blogs and donate.
But the easiest thing you can do is simply tell a friend, vote for.....
Even if you live in another state help us here in NE Ohio, we need it!
We are at a serious crossroad my friends! Remember what Euclid did to me?
Big night for tea party: O'Donnell wins Delaware By DAVID ESPO
These three paragraphs say a lot about the condition our country is in.
O'Donnell defeated nine-term Rep. Mike Castle, a fixture in Delaware politics for a generation and a political moderate. Republican party officials, who had touted him as their only hope for winning the seat in the fall, made clear as the votes were being counted they would not provide O'Donnell funding in the general election.
This is a sad commentary. Is it party first or country first? Moderates are part of the reason for TEA Parties. The people voted for O'Donnel and unless she has done something majorly wrong the GOP should back her.
In New York, 40-year veteran Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel easily won renomination in his first time on the ballot since the House ethics committee accused him of 13 violations, most of them relating to his personal finances.
The voting public is as much to blame as our corrupt politicians. The people had a choice and chance to vote this man out of office. Instead Rangel not only won, he easily won. Reelecting him is almost like giving him carte blanche. Is this absurd or what?
In a postscript from one of them, Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska is expected to announce by week's end whether she will mount a write-in campaign following her primary defeat last month.
ARROGANCE!!! This is all about arrogance. How many times have we seen someone voted out of office and instead of accepting defeat and going back to the private sector they fight it and try to get back on the ballot either as an independent or another party. They don't understand, the people spoke, you lost, go home now.
Hey Gang,
Scrolling around on the Internet researching Roy Brommer who is running for Ashtabula county auditor I came across this:
http://www.ashtabulagop.com/index.html
Look at both You Tube links. Ashtabula is a real HOOT! Where else can you find a country music backed clipped and then a funk backed clip on the same homepage? No where else but good ole Ashtabula, Ohio.
But besides the hokieness the clips drive home a sad truth.
Ashtabula is about 40 miles from Cleveland and even they got on the bandwagon with lambasting Russo and Dimora The Corrupt Cuyahoga Duo of Shame.
Sadly - enjoy the clips.
A FOLLOW UP message from Terry - 61 years Young
Carey,
My quote of “vote the incumbents out.” was an extreme generalization for my friends.
After sitting with the gang (ALL BABY BOOMERS) and trying to talk Politics, it seemed much simpler (for THEM) to ask all to just “vote the incumbents out”. IF I convinced them to even Vote at all next Tuesday.
Carey, you ARE correct in that we DO have a few Incumbents that deserve a second try. It is just there are too many Politics As Usual heads on the entire Team in Washington that (in the words from the movie “Charley Wilson’s War”) …get to vote YES a lot!” It seems in my view, the simpler of directions for my friends to be heard and help make the change.
I grew up a Democrat. UAW member, then with the Teamsters. Kennedy was Assassinated on my 14th Birthday.
I look at my children and see how they suffer today, but they try to keep a straight face. Their smiles are worn and few.
Disillusioned I voted for Perot. I now support the Republicans AND the T Party.
IF Newt Gingrich runs in 2012 HE is my man of choice.
Next Tuesday we need to set the stage for his arrival.
Thanks
TB
I grew up a Democrat. UAW member, then with the Teamsters. Kennedy was Assassinated on my 14th Birthday.
I look at my children and see how they suffer today, but they try to keep a straight face. Their smiles are worn and few.
Disillusioned I voted for Perot. I now support the Republicans AND the T Party.
IF Newt Gingrich runs in 2012 HE is my man of choice.
Next Tuesday we need to set the stage for his arrival.
Thanks
A message from Terry - 61 years Young
Friends,
I so much share Terry's pain not only for the financial upheaval and uncertainty in my life but also because Terry is a special friend of mine and I feel deeply for him.
Terry is gifted on so many fronts that I won't even begin to list all that he has done or accomplished. A man with his intelligence should not be in the position he is in. And I know there are MANY of us who feel the same way about our predicament.
As much as I look to Terry from time to time for advice I need to make one correction in his statement below.
He reiterates over and over vote the incumbents out.
I disagree with that statement. There are a few races I know of that the incumbents are not the problem. The problem is the Socialist/Democratic agenda. A return to true Conservative principles is the answer. Why don't people see this?
The Socialist/Democratic agenda has undermined or morals, job base, freedom, interfered with our religion, it has ruined the America we use to know.
How people allow George Soros to fund the legalization of marijuana with a million dollar donation is a travesty. One of the most used tools before any country falls or is taken over by a dictator is liberal drug policies. Drugs dope the youth and masses into puppet slaves that will follow anything as long as they get their fix.
The manipulation of house values just to raise property tax. The class warfare to raise minimum wage to over 7 dollars has hurt small businesses and caused layoffs. The global trade deals which almost all can be traced back to the Clinton Administration. The take over of our houses such as what Euclid, Ohio is doing. I could go on and on. What do all those things have in common? Not one of those listed have the backing of the true Conservative/Tea Party movement. They are all part of the Socialist/Democratic agenda to bring America to her knees to be ruled by a global body.
VOTE OUT or DO NOT VOTE for anyone with a D by their name or any Rhino Republican. If there is no choice other than those two, leave it blank.
I live in Michigan all my life where the unemployment rate is at an all time Historical HIGH, even over the devastating numbers after the 30’s market crash AND even over those following WWII, when the War Production Employees hit the bricks.
My home is now worth only 78% what it was back in 2005. I bought it in 1987 for $94K. Appraised for my refi’ in ’05 at $204K. After 5 kids weddings, Home Improvements, and one or two nibbles at the American Dream, I now owe 17K over what it is (appraised) worth = $160K !
Remember, I am using the word “WORTH” ! The last home sale here, in JUL, 2010, 4 blocks away, about 98% identical home to ours, Sq Footage, Lot Size, Bells & Whistles, Upgrades, Overall Condition (only actual difference is my bricks are the White/Gray Italian VS their std Brown Rustic tone), wanted $140K - went for $115K after being on the market for 26 MONTHS……. I counted last night on a cruise looking at just a 5 block radius of my house, and there are 21 homes for sale.
We tried one of Obama’s FHA Real Estate/Mortgage Adjustments = DENIED, then the NEW Totally FHA sponsored/backed Refi’ = also DENIED.
GET THIS, without putting it IN WRITING of course. “YOU’RE TOO OLD ! ”
ITS ALL BULL SHIT!
THEN 08SEP10, (along with 40+ other Detroit Metro employees) notified ALL our jobs have been moved to Florida . BUT thank GOD (remember HIM) its still in the states, ay? I am Unemployed as of 08NOV10.
With the above Real Estate Facts staring us in the face, I could NOT afford to MOVE/RELOCATE to South Florida .
My wife of 41 years is semi handicapped. We have 5 kids and 12 Grandkids.
Cost of living within 25 miles of that Florida work location is 8% to 12% higher than here.
Home owners insurance is almost DOUBLE what it is here. THAT doesn’t include the Florida State Mandated Flood Insurance rider either.
Auto Insurance is almost DOUBLE what it is here for the same car in South Florida .
The ONLY upside is GAS there is 4¢ to 6¢ cheaper (IF you drive around and HUNT it down) than up here.
Oh I forgot to mention NO-ONE would be receiving any Cost Of Living RAISE (or ANY pay increase) when relocating.
Yet they keep saying the turn around HAS BEGUN….. WHERE?
So much for MY personal problems. We’re not alone though.
SO vote EVERY Incumbent OUT. PICK AND CHOOSE. Send the message.
Business AS USUAL is OVER.
Euclid grows the government again
Euclid is at it again. I am not opposed to recycling or going green but someone needs to tell the mayor that government is not suppose to create jobs, the private sector is and that's where real growth and tax revenue comes from.
Now is NOT the time to add government workers. As the city of Euclid's government grows so will the tax they impose on the residents because there is no guarantee this plan will work. This move is another shot across the bow for anyone thinking of opening a business or buying a house. For the rest of us of us who have already in Euclid, we are stuck.
Euclid aims to go green with recycling program
By Max Reinhart News-Herald.com
The city of Euclid took a step toward becoming more environmentally friendly and, officials believe, more cost-effective, at Monday evening's city council meeting.
Council voted 5-3 in favor of starting a curbside recycling program as soon as equipment, supplies and personnel are available. I believe this was tried already in Euclid. I know in Wickliffe they did and as in most cities it failed.
"I think it's the proper thing to do. I think it's a service that our residents want (Did they ask everyone?)," Euclid Mayor Bill Cervenik said.
With the approval of curbside recycling, the city now waits to see whether a recycling consortium of nine or 10 nearby cities will come to fruition. regionalism - socialism
If it does, Cervenik said the city has the possibility (possibility not for certain, in the end the residents will pay) of generating revenue, depending on how much trash the city recycles.
If the consortium doesn't take shape, Cervenik said the worst the city could do is break even with the agreement it has with the city of Cleveland.
"The consortium would make it even better," Cervenik said. "But I firmly believe that even (without it), the recycling will be a break-even or a slightly profitable endeavor."
The new program also means the creation of new jobs for the city. The city, not the private sector. And who will pay for the new workers?.
By approving the measure, council will allow Cervenik to create and staff three full-time positions to collect residents' recyclables. Someone tell the Mayor government should not create jobs, if it does, its called Socialism.
Councilwoman Mary Jo Minarik was one of the dissenting votes. Minarik said council needed to hear more details about the possible consortium and new city jobs before voting on it.
"I think the discussion tonight has shown that there are a lot of gray areas out there," Minarik said.
Council members David Gilliham and Daryl Langman also voted against the implementing the program.
Councilwoman Madeline Scarniench voted for the program and said she's talked about the idea with numerous residents — all of whom have been in favor.
"Right now I think we need to give our residents something that's really good, and I think this is one of those things," Scarniench said. Really good! Why not rescind the street light - trash fee's, add more police, lower the taxes and get out of people's homes, now that is really good!
Following the approval of the recycling plan, council approved a purchase to help put the plan into action.
Cervenik's request to purchase a recycling truck for about $92,000 was approved by a 5-3 vote. Money used to start the recycling program came primarily from a state grant with additional money coming from the city's cash reserve to pay the salaries of the new positions. Instead of buying more equipment and adding MORE city workers and charging the residents for trash and street lights why not save the money and rescind those fee's? This is a key phrase here: Money used to start the recycling program... And then what happens after that, answer raise taxes to pay for it. We have been down this road before. Besides, IF I am correct, cash reserves are for existing programs and emergencies.
Cervenik said he was pleased that the program could be funded without any general fund money being spent.
"It requires us not to use general fund money and take it away from safety forces, EMS, recreation and other things like that," he said.
The recycling program is expected to begin as soon as the new positions are staffed and recycling bags and informational literature can be circulated to the public.
From my archives Feb. 2010:
Chuck Galletti, who was sitting in for Triv (Triv Show WTAM), made this statement to Mayor Cervenek. - What people are against is once a fee or tax is put in place its never removed. The Mayor responded That's not necessarily true, they can always be reduced.
Excuse me, reduced is not the same as being removed.
Seven Candidates - Tom Ganley
Friends,
I hear a lot of complaints about our leaders and elected officials. And I keep telling people NOT all are thieving liars. You need to attend the different functions, you need to meet the candidates face to face to find out. Here are a few that I endorse.
It was hard to narrow it down of whom to endorse as I have met many fine qualified people. So this is my short list of seven candidates that I believe are honest, have integrity, still believe in America and that can make a difference. Most of these candidates have never held office before. I call this the year of the businessman/non-politician.
5. Tom Ganley candidate U.S. Rep. Ohio 13Th Congressional District
This is kind of a unusual endorsement as I am including a short clip. What I want you to do is please look at the clip, look at the photos and then go out and support Ganley any way you can.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVHgBy7IuzA
Again... PLEASE look at the clip so you understand what is going on. This is one race that you can make a definite stand against Obama and his socialist policies. Tom Ganley is also a businessman/non politician like so many others this year.
For years Wickliffe had a Dodge dealership dating back to the early 70's, maybe earlier. First it was Glavic Dodge then Ganley. Ganley Dodge also had a Saturn dealership. After the Government take over of Chrysler the Ganley lot is now empty on the Dodge side. Saturn is gone also and what remains is Ganley's import and a used car lot. But across the street is a Ford dealership who didn't take the bailout and is doing just fine.
The word is out that the Dems are following Republican candidates, filming them, trying anything to trip them up. I know this is going on. A Lake County candidates campaign manager contacted me and said please don't forward my email because of the tactics from the left side. All this manager asked me was if I could go out and place yard signs. That's it! This is out of hand.
A few days ago the newspaper reported Tom Ganley was being sued for sexual harassment or worse. Red flags went up all over the place. I heard Tom Ganley speak at the Lake GOP Convention in 2009. He told the story of how organized crime was trying to extort money from him. He had to have police protection live with him. But Tom stood up to it and justice was served. And that is what I feel is going on again. This woman accusing Ganley said it happened last year but why now a month before the election is this coming to light? I can't say for 100% positive as I wasn't there but something just doesn't seem right. Its very hard to believe Tom would do something like this.
The attack ads against Tom Ganley also keep on coming. Numerous sources state the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is spending more money in Ohio than in any other state and more money in Sutton's district (Tom Ganley's oponent) than in any other district. At least if the ads were constructive but they're nothing but trash talk. Tom Ganley is mostly self funding his campaign.
If you really want to send an anti-big government/Obama message - help get Tom Ganley elected.
People tell me all the time but what can I do? Simple - Get Involved! With modern technology such as cell phones and the Internet its very easy to do so. Contact these candidates and ask for voter lists and make calls on their behalf, blast out emails in their support, post this message and others on different forums and blogs and donate.
But the easiest thing you can do is simply tell a friend, vote for.....
Even if you live in another state help us here in NE Ohio, we need it!
We are at a serious crossroad my friends! Remember what Euclid did to me?
